What were they fucking thinking
Halo has continuously struggled for relevance in the wake of Call of Duty's dominance and the lack of a longterm franchise steward with any idea of what Halo can be in the 2010s, in the 2020s, and so forth. Even when it lucked out coming out next to the double disaster of COD Vanguard and BF 2042 it couldn't follow up on its momentum.I'm not surprised somebody just thought fuck it "Far Cry but it's Halo" seemed like a viable idea. Halo is too slow and too shallow to be interesting to the boomer shooter crowd enjoying what games used to be like in the golden age of shooters before Halo, but also lacks the combat pacing to be interesting to the COD crowd. Unless it does a signficiant gameplay revamp, either becoming a faster game or adding mechanical depth it's basically just selling to a stagnant audience nostalgic for the 00s.
i played the halo remake recently and it was alright, honestly halo feels pretty dated nowwould rather just play ADHD fps shit like darktide
