This is unironically my favorite one when you know how to avoid the glitches (tip: don't try to leave the sewers too fast after the big reveal scene down there, or collision has a chance to fuck up big time).You forgot that it has the most thoughtful and numerous detective scenes in the franchise, and that the combat is tougher overall until shock gloves.Anyway the real downsides are the collectibles. Some of them have better puzzles than usual, but all you get is the worst Riddler scene of all time for it and prevent the exposure of corruption. Then there are more than one type of unmarked collectibles that you pretty much need a guide to find, no one liked that.

It's just not a very good game, certainly not anywhere near as memorable as asylum / city / knight. It just feels unpolished and unfinished. The open world of the city itself is just poorly designed and uninteresting to even do things in. It just feels undetailed and barebones, it's especially apparent once you get to the hotel that Joker is in, it just all feels so unfinished and shitty. The combat too, despite basically cloning City's combat, there's just something off about it that you don't really feel until you actually play the game, the animations and the polish that exists in city and knight just isn't there, it feels cheap and lower budget. Getting around the city too feels slow, the map is "large" but empty and without much to really do in it compared to how dense the other games feel. It's a solid 7/10 for good reason. It's the worst of the Arkham games, just not a bad game though. Not something I ever even feel like replaying when I go through the Arkham games again every few years. You can skip it and not really miss out on anything.

I'm still mad that they pulled the plug out of batman beyond, it's really painful because at that time most of the staff behind asylum, city and knight where still at rocksteady, and only after it was clear that beyond would not happen and a lot of other bullshit all the talent left rocksteady and the rest is history. And to be clear, at launch i hated knight, but years later i did replay on pc and it was like i was playing a completely different game compared to what i played on the ps4 on launch. They fixed knight for the most part and it deserves some love.
