In a TCOAAL thread earlier this month someone recommended a book called ForbiddenI read itFor most of it I was mild on it. Yeah their home life was shitty but it wasn't quite getting to me. Still, I was looking forward to the ending, since I thought they would timeskip to being a little older and free from their family obligations. Maybe I should have thought a little more about what was actually being said because instead I was so fucking mad. I couldn't fucking believe they would just end it like that, just kill him off after all that talk of the future and their potential. That Lochan would actually tank death and do that to his whole family to avoid Maya having to go through a couple years of prison and having their family searched, and that he'd put that on fucking Kit's shoulders. Then I thought about it a little more, like yeah he was shown to be irrational and have panic attacks at the worst times, and the foreshadowing for a police call and their mom showing up was there if course. I thought about how that must look in Kit's POV, spite calling their mom over a mistake, only for it to spiral out of control and end with his pseudo-father killing himself. And mostly, I remembered when they're removing Lochan from the house, and he's looking at the remnants of things from the younger siblings, and he's thinking about how he wants his children back.
