It turned it into a checklist game for many people, thinking they are supposed to visit all those places, and tick them off. They are supposed to be found organically while exploring. But marking them on the map kills any incentive to actually explore because you know there is nothing outside of the marked areas. So nobody actually explores just follows the map to collect them all like a machine.I think it was a huge mistake.
