Did the first really pull a profit? Are Endless Legend 2 sales that good?
Seems decent to me. Probably enough for it to be a decent profit. And on top of that Civilization just shot itself in the foot.
Why would they release this to compete with their other 4x game? And with the same shitty civ swap mechanic nobody likes.

As someone who actually played Humankind it was actually a mess of good ideas and bad ones, so I'm curious to wait and see if the sequel actually improves on it or not. Just fire their Endless Legends 2 writer in to the sun first.
