>GTA 6 isn't even out yet.
>Features are already paywalled.

Imagine being hyped for this bullshit, the only ones winning are TakeTwo's share holders pulling out now.

All of that shit is superficial garbage that has zero impact on the game and can easily be ignored

>>
>>746245217
you were so close to realizing that the entire game is superficial garbage but fell just short of the finish line
>>
>>746245217
Yeah but especially the 2 free safe houses and the gang hideout will be unique features that are especially useful, also the clasic car collection, then also the cosmetics are locked behind actual shops too, that i suppose you can only enter if you have the DLC.
RDR2 has a few missions that are locked behind the UE and unlike GTA6 they have never sold them separately. Which pisses me off desu.
The GTA6 content is I suppose actually worth the extra cash, even if it is a day one DLC.
>>
I will be buying the ultimate edition closer to release.
I am just waiting for there to be something worth claiming in GTAO before I buy it desu. Because you get a "free" month of GTA+ and in GTAO if you claim that shit right between the monthly switch over you can get the 2 months rewards in it.
So at least 1 mil GTA bux, 2 free cars and some other shit. Might as well min/max the game I m guaranteed to buy anyway.
>>
>>746245143
>offline crap
who cares? it can be unlocked with some ini tweaks
>>
>>746245604
NTA, but everything you listed is still superficial garbage that has zero impact.
whenever i see a special edition offering things such as "5000 orbs to start" or "gang hideout", "2 free safe houses", that's just paid cheats, it's literally "pay real extra money to avoid having to spend in game money to instaneously obtain X thing", and the rest such as classic car collection and cosmetics that are exclusively to paid shops are just cosmetics.
there isnt a single thing in the ultimate edition that is not superficial garbage, be it cosmetics or disguised paid cheats
>>
>>746245820
You sound butthurt so to explain to you.
there are 2 safe houses that I guess are only able to be purchased via that UE.
A gang hideout and the classic car collection is gonna be a long standing mission.
So like RDR2 where you have the bank heist and the gang hideout, its relatively substantial content locked behind a day one DLC.
That is of course assuming the cars locked behind it are not actually locked behind the DLC either, which I doubt, they just look like free cars.
Everything else I agree is superficial cosmetics and things you can earn in game.
Also for relevance. GTAV also had a unique garage that was locked behind the special edition. Not a big deal but seeing you had limited car space and it was able to hold lots of cars (unique, spawnable) it was a substantial in game "thing".

I of course dont want day one DLC, parts of the game cut away to grift people for more money but it is what it is.

From the recent leaks and seeing how massive the city is, how you need to ditch evidence to avoid police as well as these safe houses can stash loot, have gun lockers I cant hep but think the safe houses alone will be very useful in the game.

I'm a little sad that I laughed so hard at this picture
>>
>>746245143
Every time I buy an ultimate edition of a game I feel compelled to use the ultimate edition stuff so that I feel like I got my monies worth, but end up ONLY using the ultimate edition stuff and ignoring 99% of the content that wasn't included.
By buying ultimate editions gives me less due to human psychology.
>>
>multiple random PS4 and PS5 games
>game costs X and contains the base game
>ultimate edition costs X+Y and contains the base game + extras
extras included in ultimate edition
>exclusive cosmetic skin for this or that thing in tha game
>immediately unlock this fancy weapon you'd otherwise need to pay high in-game money for
>get access to exclusive shop that gives you full control over the customixation of this or that thing in the game(basic customization of those same things is already in the base game, but it's limited to preset colors and/or amount of additional customization)
>get extra cash/coins/orbs right away
>standard survival kit including 10 health recoveries, 5 cure all, and 2 enhancement items
everyone is fine with this, everyone considers it normal cause ultimate editoon should obviously include extra content other than the base game

fast forward 10 years
>GTA 6 does ALL of the above and nothing different
>NNNNNOOOOO THEY'RE LOCKING CONTENT BEHIND A PAYWALL
>THIS IS CLEARLY CONTENT THAT IS ALREADY IN THE GAME BUT THEY'RE PRETENDING IS DLC

and no, im not defending this, BOTH cases are wrong, BOTH cases are ones where content has been planned well before the release of the game and is being sold as day one DLC as part of an ultimate edition, what grinds my gears is that this is nothing new, plenty of games have been doing this for over 10 years by now, and even if people have always been against it, people also grew used to this being the sad new norm, yet everyone is now acting like GTA6 is doing something different and differently wrong or more wrong as well as setting a standard for this practice, WHEN IT HAS BEEN THE STANDARD FOR 10 YEARS ALREADY

is it wrong? yes
is the hate justified? yes
is it something new? FUCKING NO, stop acting like it is and acting like rockstar are suddenly the bad guys for doing what everyone else does
>>

>>
>>746246365
Even without the leaks, today was gonna be a huge GTA 6 day with the new trailer, and the next months are gonna be filled with even more as relese day approaches. You better get used to it, because it's not going away any time soon, maybe it will wind down by February or March of next year.
>>
>>746246106
im not butthurt, but sure, go on
>there are 2 safe houses that I guess are only able to be purchased via that UE.
>A gang hideout and the classic car collection is gonna be a long standing mission.
cool, if that is the case(where the 2 safe houses arent just direct access to ones that are also available in the base game, but actually exclusive ones) and the gang hideout and classic car collection are active missions that will go on through the game, then these are just standard DLC, which is common practice to include in an ultimate edition.
it's certainly not the first time a game has featured extra missions or exclusive meaningful content as part of a day 1 DLC, so i dont see the issue there.

i am not going to buy it, but the UE content is not something so weird or unconventional to justify all the drama people are making about it
>>
>>746245510
Do you really think I don’t know that video games are a complete waste of time? We all cope with the void in different ways anon
>>
>>746245820
I've also avoided special editions for this reason. It is often obvious when the game has been designed around the standard edition and then at the last minute they slap on some items or currency to justify a special edition, but in doing so mess with the intended progression of the game.
But you're just assuming that is also the case with GTA 6 when it seems plausible that they have gone the other way i.e. removing things from the standard edition that were originally conceived as part of the standard game design in order to justify the special edition.
We won't know till the game is released but it's definetly not as obvious as the example you gave.
>>
>>746245143
It isn't even out yet and you're complaining about not having stuff without knowing if you even want it yet because you haven't played the game.

Its like complaining that a store is out of stock of an item you wouldn't have bought anyways.
>>
>>746245731
>tfw All of november is 4× Money and RP on Everything
>>
>>746246393
they've been doing it on PC as well for years, and most of the times flipping a switch(i assume you mean the typical ini change) isnt enough cause the extra content isnt included in the base game but is only downloaded if you own the licens of the special edition
and even then, people have been using creamapi on pc for years to do exactly the thing you assume they dont, so no, consoles and pc releases arent different at all in this regard
>>
Whether someone gives a single solitary fuck about GTA6 is a fantastic litmus test of whether they are a human, or simply human-shaped.
It is sad that so many fail the test by being absolutely brainlessly hyped for this garbage.
>>
>>746246452
I dont really get what you are saying.
Still the UE stuff is not that expensive, will be unique shit in game that you can only get from UE and some of it is substantial content.
Plus you can see post release when others have bought it, what you are not getting in game and purchase it if you like.
Only thing you will most likely be locked out of is the pre order stuff if you dnt preorder.
>>
>>746246524
I am actually expecting this. Honestly.
On PSN you have to use the GTA+ by march next year. i was thinking maybe the new GTAO drops and to use it then but it really looks like they are not gonna drop 6 GTAO until next year so i might as well use it for GTAO now.
Plus you also can rent R* games with it so i can replay LA noire or RDR1 if i wanted to.
>>
PS5 emulation is in its early stages. Non zero chance it's playable on PC before the PC release anyway. Also, Denuvo is dead.
>>
>>746245217
>you don't NEED the whole game
Hi Shazam
>>
>>746246330
>is it something new? FUCKING NO
So? We should continue to call out shitty anti-consumer practices until they are gone
>>
>>746247394
>I dont really get what you are saying.
What im saying is:
assuming you are correct about how the UE content is distributed, where there's extra missions and hideouts exclusive to the UE and the rest is cosmetics and content that doesnt really add anything meaningful to the game, then it being part of a UE edition, day 1 DLC, or later released DLC does not matter and all the fuss about this is irrelevant and makes no sense.
People like to think that if the additional content is released on the same day as the game, then it's content that is part of the main game but is being sold as extra, and that if the additional content is released later on, then it's a proper DLC.
But the differnce is actually non-existent, cause if they release the game now and the DLC content 2 months later, it's still pretty obvious that the DLC content was still planned from the start, so even in that case players should treat it as "content that is part of the main game but is being sold as extra", but they don't.
The only true difference is marketing, packaging, and time of release, but the actual content and substance of what is part of the base game and what is part of the DLC is unchanged, yet people are mad as if there was any real substantial difference where there is none: the extra content is extra missions like any regular DLC and extra cosmetics like any regular DLC, it being released at the same time of the game changes nothing.
>>
>>746247940
>We should continue to call out shitty anti-consumer practices until they are gone
absolutely, as i already said in the very same 2 lines before the one you quoted, it is wrong and the hate is justified
>So?
so people should stop treating as a new practice or standard, a lot of people, way too many people actually, are acting like this move will normalize this format cause GTA is a huge game and if they do it and succeed, everyone else will follow their example and do the same, but they're all ignoring that this is ALREADY a common practice to the point it is ALREADY the current standard, GTA doing it does not suddenly make common what is more than common already, GTA isnt introducing a new product framing where it needs to be stopped cause otherwise others will do it too, others have been doing it too well before GTA did it.
but most people arent hating it cause its wrong, they're hating it cause in their eyes GTA is pioneering this "new" practice, when in fact it has been so standardized in the past 10 years already it'd be more newsworthy and surprising if GTA didnt do it
>>
>>746248410
>so people should stop treating as a new practice or standard
What are some examples of this?
People are rightfully saying fuck Rockstar for doing it
>>
>>746248226
It is clearly in game content cut away as DLC though. You can buy the GTA6 standard and upgrade to the UE as well, day one...Its literally content split away from the main game to nickle and dime customers. No 2 ways about it.
Again, i am nit happy with it but it is what it is.
i will be buying the UE anyway as I want the full content. Its not that expensive and if GTAV/O is anything to go buy its actually a nice way to support the devs.
i mean as GTAO was supported for 13 years and will still probably be supported for another 2, all for free.
>>
>>746248479
>What are some examples of this?
i already made examples of this, plenty of people, on social media, here on 4chan, even fucking "journalist" articles, highlighting how dangerous it is for rockstar to be doing this cause if they are successful it will become the norm, as it wasnt already the norm, which it is
>>
>>746248410
>ALREADY a common practice
>standardized in the past 10 years
This was in GTAV 13 years ago, and RDR2 like 8 years ago.
RDR1 might have even had stuff like this too, i cant remember.
Is IS standard practice. As you said, been going on for over a decade.
>>
>>746248620
>It is clearly in game content cut away as DLC though.
Im not sayint it's not, it is.
what im saying is, it being day one content or not is irrelevant to this conclusion.
if the game released today and the extra content was released 2 months from now, that extra contet is still game content that was cut away as DLC, the only difference is what you, the consumer, have been told, but behind the scenes nothing changes, they took part of what they planned for the game, and decided to turn it into extra content for the DLC.
So is there any difference? No, yet people act as if there is, as if it being day one released alongside the game somehow made it more wrong or absurd than it would have been if it was released later as "added" DLC, it's not, it's either equally wrong or equally fine.

And proof of this is that there have been plenty of cases in the past where people found evidence in some games of planned DLC from day one, only for that to be confirmed when the DLC eventually released few months later, confirming that even such cases are ones where the DLC content was always part of the game and was simply cut out to make it a DLC.
>>
>>746248926
Yeah that cutting away shit is common as fuck, what you are saying is there are morons who fall for it.
Fighting games have this shit often, DLC characters released a month after and in most cases, unless they are SNK or maybe arc sys, no way are they making full characters that fast.
Just using that as an example.

i am sure you know, most people in this world are complete fucking retards though they fall for this shit hook line and sinker so why would corpos not keep doing it.
