Weapons will be the gacha. Hoyo gacha already have it split between gacha banners for characters and another gacha banner for their best equipment piece.

Balance aside, older beloved characters stop appearing in the story as new ones take their place and it stops making sense. Plus the powercreep. Lots more work and it's a lot harder to work the sex appeal in.Probably some combination of weapon gacha and costume gacha as their primary monetization model. Unlocking characters provide the basic gameplay styles in this case, whatever that may be, since Monhun games tie the gameplay styles the weapons.
