The themes and attention to detail in this game are autistic as fuck in the best way. I just finished MGS1 for the first time (got Iguana rank)i skipped it the first time around cuz I was a scrub but playing it now felt extremely straight forward. i mean the game literally holds your hand the entire time and tells you exactly what to dothe game honestly had a lot of really annoying moments, like the damage in boss fights (had to redo rex because i died from missiles AFTER rex died but before the cutscene proc'd) and certain rooms near the end, and all the fucking gun turrets even if the game gives you 9001 chaffs. also fuck that guard before the laptop room. I stinger'd his ass every fucking time I used the key.also the random trap doors and claymores. fuck that shit. I'm never going to play it again but overall the game was cool, sure. im more excited to replay the rest of the series.

I've been replaying the whole saga and it's kind of changed my perspective. 2 is the absolute peak of the franchise. I tried getting into MGS with Delta (also played V) and quit after about an hour or so when I realized the gameplay would consist of 50 seconds walking, sneaking through a corridor area only to be interrupted by a radio call filled with exposition and Japanese type akwardness or a 10 minute cutscene. Apparently 4 is way, way worse than that too

Everything is bigger in 4 so you have to haul ass if you feel like trying CQC.
