I finally played every mgs and this to me is the best
Monster hunter style pick and play gameplay works best
Wish mgs4 and 5 was like this
>>
Is MGSV not like this though?
They always felt pretty similar to me.

Only resource gathering
Piss walker has tight mission structure whereas V's open world sucks ass and has so many repetitive enemy camps

Ok so the thing is, I know people mention the open world a lot but I really didn't engage with it that much. To me the game still felt like a pretty mission by mission game because I kept just kind of selecting them from Mother Base and engaging with all the stuff there during the mission, like resource harvesting.
I guess during the side ops I was doing more "open world" stuff but even then went by pretty quick.

My problem with Piss Walker is more so that yes the mission design is tighter, it felt a little too easy and showed you all its tricks too quick, MGSV had me more engaged.

1 is best

Peace Walker is cool but it's way too easy
>>
I might get it just for online deathmatches

The opposite is true. Peace Walker's small map designs are extremely simple and limited, and soldiers are more blind than they've ever been in the series, resulting in zero challenge. Almost every zone is damn near a straight hallway (with a few boxes in place) or an open arena for monster hunter boss battles.

MGSV's big open map with soldier sightlines reaching hundreds of meters if they catch you standing up in anything other than the stealth suit, patrols that dynamically vary and react to previous engagements, vehicles that are actually dangerous without needing to be "bosses" and random events that can throw you off. Even the smaller places like the Yakbo Supply Outpost have more going on with them than most zones in Peace Walker.
MGSV should be the model to work off of, only make the large scale environments more dense, like a major city.

The Fox Engine just happens to be really good. Such a shame it wasn't fully utilized. Thank god for PC mods. I'd hate V too if I had played the console versions.

PW is shit

It's the game that people who hate stealth games always pick. Because it's full of retarded busywork and that's the only thing they can enjoy in a stealth game

3 >= 1 > 2 > 4 = PW > PO >>>>>>>>>>>>>> the rest >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> V

PW is a piece of shit and just because it has a MH reference doesn't mean it's actually a good game. It's piss easy and very very repetitive. Not much variety in anything really. The good parts are the cassete tapes and getting to know random stuff about the members and random trivia about Nicaragua and other shit like that
>>
Peace Walker would be considered one of the best MGS games if it wasn't designed for the PSP. It's black magic shit that it runs at all but the level and enemy design suffers so much

What mods improve the game?
Are you talking gameplay stuff?

Look up infinite heaven mod for MGS:PP. Can't say it will turn the game into a 10/10 but its way way better than playing vanilla.
