Look at this shit, the screen is blurred in stripes and car looks like it was glazed with ice, top tier graphics have literally never looked this bad and openly flawed before, and at the same time they have never been more expensive and demanding

Why?
Who needs a fucking 14gb trailer?

What did you expect? They claim it was recorded on a PS5, not even a pro one. It's a miracle the game looks like it does on that console
Besides, it will be 100% clear on pc so why are you upset?

just looks like motion blur to me. you can toggle that off in like every single game, even in gta 5, so i'd be surprised if you couldn't in 6

blur in itself can be alright. it's just some games' over-reliance on VFX that has caused a kneejerk opposition to any of them.

What I don't get is people sucking off the clouds, I get that it's the technically more advanced technique from RDR2 but they look like shit, like they're flat and rendered at 10% the resolution of the rest of the scene which makes them look like an obvious layer rather than part of the world, not a single sharp cloud in the game

this is what annoys me about modern ray traced graphics. i just played some cyberpunk 2077 today on absolute max settings with path tracing and DLSS, and there's this annoying shimmering everywhere. you don't want to notice it at first, but after a while it just starts to feel like there's a subtle layer of weird noise and ghosting on everything.

Lil bro, PS5s are flying off the shelves because of GTA VI, its a system seller.

Nobody with a brain is going to miss the game of the century just so they can play the same-old boring Bing-Bing Wahoo garbage from 30 years ago.

If Nintendo was smart they would start making real consoles instead of children's toys, this way they wouldnt have to miss so many 3rd party games or get garbage-ass 20fps 480p ports.

>>
>>746513458
The game is 30fps, so there is motion blur from the low framerate.

The base PS5 does not support any modern upscalers like DLSS or FSR4 to force a crisper looking image.

The reflection on the car is Screen Space to save up on performance by not utilizing ray tracing, that's why it look weird in that specific frame but this is all shit you won't notice in motion.

>no more baked in lighting
We had fully dynamic lighting and shadows 20 years ago, and it ran on low-end DirectX 9.0c hardware.

The biggest problem is all these lazy UE5-brainwashed zoomer asshats believing that we NEED to use 1-bit dithered shading and alpha-cutouts for everything, and NEED to use PBR slop on everything as well.

They then go Surprised-Pikachu.TIF when their game looks AND runs like utter shit.

RDR2 is one of the most beautiful games ever but it's striking how the ambient sky color bounce in shadowed areas is the wrong tint, as well as how the atmospheric shading isn't quite right. GTA6 is the first of theirs I've seen to get that stuff right

Am I the only one who was wholly unimpressed by the graphics?
Is everyone just a retarded zombie that doesn't know what good graphics look like?
Is it the hype? Do people just ape each other and pretend the consensus is reality?

>>746513458
They're doing a whole bunch of trickery of what looks like dynamic resolution hidden by per object motion blur. All bespoke shit that is doing its absolute best to hide the fact that it's running on a mid range hardware from 2018. The amount of engineering and man hours spent on making shit hardware do what it wasn't supposed to do is tragic. It still looks ass regardless.

>Is it the hype?
It is synthesized hype. AKA: viral marketing.
AAA publishers NEED their uncreative, overpriced slop to succeed, so they put up a literal circus months prior the release, doubling down on it the last couple weeks.

Then the ""discussion"" mysteriously dies, and criticism is allowed once more. I've seen this jazz happen so many times the past 16+ years. Before the 2010s, triple-A fags didn't bother shitposting online, but now they've taken sites like 4chan, PIebbit, and especially YT comment section as their billboard.
>>
>>746523037
I've been watching all these faggots that had a day trip to rockstar talk about gta 6. I think it's top down hype. Goycattle get told by their favourite influencers what to think and it works.
That australian manlet that speedruns the game for years immediately and suspiciously exclaimed that new voice actor for Jason sounds better.

They're all bought in shills or normalniggers that cannot tell what's going on. I doubt spending money on jeets to post here does anything at this stage.

I'm excited for gat 6 because it's Rockstar and aside from how shit gtao has become they actually haven't released a bad game. If you think red dead 2 is a bad game you will never be pleased or strictly play competitive games. I know they've only released one game in your lifetime, but there's really no reason someone who's been playing Rockstars games since gta 2. Outside of becoming cynical about the industry as a whole. I haven't bought a game at full price in years though, so it's not like voting with my wallet matters. I might as well pay once for a game that will be in the cultural zeitgeist for at least the next decade.

My first gta was gta 3.

Rdr2 was an immediately apparent generational leap in terms of technology and everything. GTA 6 looks like a cousin game developed in parallel. It's obviously going to be the most technically impressive game when all metrics are considered, but the game will reach its full potential with rerelease for ps6 and subsequent enhanced edition for PC. Right now you're looking at a gimped version optimized for xbox series x

Unironically your brain has been affected by societys current anti-ai hysteria and is participating in a mass psychosis event. You will see it everywhere whether its there or not. What makes it worse for you is that you will be right 99% of the time which will feed into seeing it where it isn't.
Not saying ai is good, just noting that society has gotten to the point of hysteria when it comes to AI. There are segments of society that are conducting modern day witch hunts to expose AI use.

>running on PS5
>'artifacts' shown are literally objects being blurred due to the vehicle being in fast motion, which will likely be an option setting on PC
>complaining about graphical fidelity in the year of our lord 2026

A few points that are very important to note: graphics have long had diminishing returns, this is supposedly running on a gimped console, and ultimately the visuals are pretty irrelevant. They look fine, especially in motion, and the gameplay itself looks really fun.

In other words, if Rockstar meets the bare minimum of their game not looking like absolute ass- which it has for most- the graphics themselves can be comfortably checked off or ignored as a factor. Fans and "fans" will say it looks good, those indifferent will focus on what actually matters (the gameplay), and those who want to hate on the game for any arbitrary reason will point to it as a flaw, which is a difficult choice considering the reality of visuals in modern gaming.

tl;dr

The only questions about graphics that need to be answered are:

>does this run well?
>does it look acceptable?

If the answers to both questions are "yes", it's a moot point.

>inb4 "hurr defending billion dollar company"
Nothing to do with Rockstar specifically. This is all from the end-user/consumer perspective.

This is the best it's going to be. Once we get the enhanced edition the online is going to nosedive and they're going to completely forget about the single-player game. Hopefully it's a co-op campaign. If not that, I heard one of the people that got to speak with Rockstar say that the game is going to be made to be replayed. Hopefully it's not just medals like in 5.
