What are you playing while waiting for the DW3 Remaster?
>>746558271>Remaster
>>746558382fuck off nigger
so are all dynasty warriors games like romance if the 3 kingdoms where its just literally the same game but updated or are they actual sequels?if i play the newest or whichever people say is the best one is there any point to playing the rest?
>>746559587as with all videogame franchises ever, the one people say is the best is usually the worst
>>746559916not the point of the question
>>746558271>Regular Bait
>>746559963you asked if there was any point in playing anything other than whichever people say is the best oneI told you the other ones are better, implying they are more worth playingI really shouldn't need to explain this
>>746559587questions still open if any adults want to provide insight
playing through the oda story in sw4
>>746558271>What are you playing while waiting for the DW3 Remaster? The original DW3XL>>746559587It's the same story but they add new stages, characters, music, change up gameplay mechanics, and re-do the stuff that was already included too. Like DW2's yellow turban stage is nothing like DW8's, and that's not like DWO's either.
whats the ideal way to play empires games? custom scenarios or historical ones
>>746561528I'd say custom because you got the mainline games for the historical timeline.
Take a guess which game is getting remastered next(reminder this was translated from japanese, that means the list is DW2, DW4+XL, DW5+XL and DW6+S)
They should try something fancy and include a stage editor where you can freely place enemies, allies and item pots/crates. Especially if they are returning to individual unit morale
I'm playing Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires. Love it. Doing the Dong Zhou scenario
>>746561851probably 4 or 6, i doubt 2 happens. i think the reason for these remasters is to update the rosters for current graphics so they can really lock in on dw10
>>746560850The moment Yoshimoto reveal his true self to Tokugawa in the story of SW4
>>746559587They retold the same story, but each game is a bit different. But they all has the yellow turban rebellion, Hu Lao gate, Chi Bi levels. If you're new to the series (and new to the story) and don't know where to start, then I think you should try Origin. But if you're already familiar with Three Kingdom then 8 XL could be a great start. Honestly there is no wrong choice here, maybe aside from 6 and 9.
What he saidExcept this is the ez version
Does it bother anyone else that DW3R is using DW5 sounds
>>746558271>What are you playing while waiting for the DW3 Remaster?I'm a smart person who makes wise decisions in life so I thought it would be a good idea to 100% WO3U in the meantime. Already got every mystic weapon (took less than I thought honestly) and now I'm doing all the unique triple rush attaks (halfway done with those). After that, all is left is the duel mode crap and finishing the mystic requests in gaunlet mode. All in all, it will keep me ocupied until the 30th.
bump
What are the chances remaster will have the enemy archers capable of doing this
>>746558271Peacewalker
>>746566003yeah the way origins slow plays the story is probably the best way to experience the actual story. the other games rush through everything
>>746572414I haven't captured gameplay since the FRAPS days. What do people use these days to get good quality capture?
why does sw4e mog dw8e so hard, they're the same generation
>>746572948pcsx2 has a built-in capture buttonOtherwise you can use OBS
>>746572993I'll give OBS a shot, thanks. At first I was thinking about the nvidia shadowplay but then I figured I had to install that horrible nividia app.
Stop dying for 5 minutes pls
>>746558271Is 9E finally good?
Really hope we get a Samurai Warriors 1 remaster
>>746576950sw1 has such a unique look and feel that i would have to think it would lose a lot being remastered into ue5 compared to most other games in the series
>>746577462I think the Nioh games aren't too far off from what a good remaster could look like.
>>746577993Without all the demon stuff anyways
>>746561851Based nip picking SSM 4 (DW 5), they should've improve destiny mode
Emulated SW4E, glad I could finally rock my beloved greatsword and rifle again. While I do like SW's whole deal of switching between dudes on the map I do prefer the more independent/roaming officer style DW8E had
>>7465793314E just has so many midbattle events and officer interactions compared to 8E that it feels more satisfying to play imo
Who we playing first
>>746579464True enough, it also avoided a lot of the fuck around in a small part of a larger empty map side-missions that 8E had. Still 8E had its moments, and I did enjoy the option of just being an officer in the kingdom rather than running the whole damn thing. Plus I vaguely remember completing one run by marrying someone who had incidentally conquered the other half of the map
>>746558271The original on PS2 + CRT w/ SCART. Not interested in UE slop.
>>746561851I mean it kinda makes sense to jump to our 5. 4 was my jam but when you actually look at it between 3 and 5 it's kind of a nothingburger game besides the last hurrah for the real grungy guitar, the introduction proper for create-an-officer, and QoL/streamlining that would result in 5 really starting the power fantasy trend. Plus shit ass duels.
>>746580441I'm super lazy but that reminds me that I need to make the merged isos so I can play them in opl since the damn thing can't swap discs.
>>746579851the actual battles in 8E don't feel good. On-screen enemy officers will completely ignore your troops and ally officers and 100% focus on the player. And your ally officer's level basically doesn't matter, they boost enemy officers so much that even if on paper your allies have a big advantage the enemy officers will still dominate if you just sit back and let things play out. It's not like this in the older Empires games, the artificial difficulty isn't so blatant in them. I'm so glad Sho is back because he seems to be against a lot of the gameplay direction changes they made in 7 - 9.
What's the best™ co-op Dynasty game?
>>746581197depends on who you're playing co op with. can't go wrong with samurai warriors 4 though.
are there any games where you can design custom maps/stages? if there is one we should make stages and share them here
>>746580441>+ CRT w/ SCARTposer tranny tier setup
>>746581197>>746581289It won't, but imagine if they had online coop working in DW3R without having to drop the peon count to keep everything in sync over the net.
>>746581554So far it looks like it will be only local.A bit too faithful to the original here
>>746581364Warriors Orochi 3 lets you do some sort of custom maps with Musou Battlefields. Just swap characters, dialogs and some other minor things, nothing too fancy like creating maps.
>>746582548>>746581364That and Empires games let you setup stages by deciding officers for each side etc, but it's not close to a proper battle editor.I've always thought it would be great if we could use the existing 3D stages as a blank slate and then "paint" troops onto the battlefield, place the officers, create basic events like reinforcements etc. But this would also require the game to have empires style A.I so they can move towards objectives dynamically themselves instead of following scripted routes like in the main DW games.
>>746572927No, DW7 is the best for the comprehensive story Origins is actively niggershit for that because it ends at Xiapi, fails to introduce a bunch of characters and those that it does showcase are wasted on endless visual novel tier sections where they just yap at the worthless faggot self insert that's also stealing the spots and interactions between actual RotTK characters
>>746581554>>746581289Thanks anons
>>746581289We should play it in those threads sometimes.
when i was a kid i thought the "other" category characters were way stronger than the rest of the characters because lu bu was part of it
>>746560850
>>746586770I started with WO1 so I got the impression that Lu Bu was some weak ass bitch because you beat his ass on every single last stage before you face Orochi. But you only face Honda like twice in main missions and he's so much harder it's insane. He appears more frequently in optional extra missions which are much harder in general. That's why https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ottIiQCuvqo was a horror theme to me as a kid.
Are the Pirate Warriors games worth playing?
>>746587727They're pretty good and have some pretty cool movesets in them even if you don't care about the IP.
