Gonna marathon all 3 games for the first time since playing them when they came out.

Kino
>Minerva's Den DLC
Solid story that's not relevant to the main plot.
>3
The most finical successful game but incredible divisive.
Depending on who you ask it's either shit or great.
>Burial at sea
Awful writing maybe the fate of all games that use just play the game anon as a plot device. Even people who shill the game who actually care about the story cant blindly ignore this.

Games are easy, Plasmids are fun. It's a good experience. 3 you could love or hate.

Found the Kolkata larper.

1st one: GOAT
2nd one: kind of mid, but still ok.
3rd: A decent game with fun swashbuckler style combat and a really unique style, but it's insanely pretentious. You can tell the devs were just constantly sucking their own dicks about how they're such great visionary artists. It's still a good game, but good lord is it fucking pretentious shit.
>>
infinite is so far up it's own ass that it almost comes back around to being enjoyable
>>
>>746599868
The running theme of the series is to keep subversives out of your utopia and nothing will ever go wrong. Same as Man in the High Castle and Wolfenstein.
>>
If you already played them you know exactly what you’re in for, you fucking moron
>>
>>746601961
Time adds perspective.
>>
>>746599868
a piss easy experience (with the exception of infinite)
>>
>>746599868
2 great games and a piece of shit.
>>
>>746602301
They're all easy.
I definitely die more often in infinite, but all that happens is I immediately respawn and the game subtracts 15$ out of the 3500$ silver eagles I'm hoarding.
>>
even if i think the franchise is shit
playing the same genre, 1 after another . is fucking retarded

Streamlined SS2 with a cooler setting

Pretentious galley shooter that shares little with the rest of the games.

So you've already played them? Why are you asking us then?

If you're memory is that hazy, I'll sum up all 3 for you.
All 3 have outstanding worldbuilding and setpieces and the first one has a pretty damn good story to boot. The writing falls off in the 2nd one (Although a lot of waifufags were really into the daughter character) and even moreso in the 3rd, but it still does a good job of getting you engaged and keeping things interesting.
1 is fun for its survival and RPG mechanics mostly, the gunplay itself is kind of lame and the abilities don't add much depth either. But it's fun to customize your character to specialize in one type of combat or another.
2 has improved gameplay but it's still not amazing. It's even more poorly balanced so there isn't much for customization this time, you'll probably just stick with the rivet gun, shotgun, and drill for 90% of the game.
3 has the best gameplay in the trilogy - if you can wrap your head around an ARENA shooter, and not whatever you'd call the first 2. Unfortunately a lot of people saw the regenerating health and just thought "CoD ripoff" and didn't really give the game a fair chance. There's lots more movement involved and the enemy AI is actually reasonably challenging. It's a shame the writing is absolute dogshit this time around.

Skip Shitfinite
Better yet pretend it doesn’t even exist
>>
Infinite was the game that made me realize that the gaming landscape had shifted and I was no longer the target audience, so I appreciate it for that.
Legitimately could not believe my eyes seeing that rotten dog turd being praised as the second coming of christ.
>>
>>746604819
It's hilarious how quickly it got memoryholed as well. Other than Elizabeth porn, it had zero cultural impact.
>>
Enjoy. They're fun videogames. =]

>1
great system shock-for-consoles, play on hard if you want a smooth ride, survivor if you want so much as a mdoest challenge
>2
suffers in parts other than action but BS1 was already actionized and the action is REALLY good so it's fine
>minerva
2 with maybe a slightly more cohesive story, fun setting
>infinite
like the incarnation of what was happening to shooters in that era, systems being ripped out and replaced with cheap spectacle. it's very pretty and has a neat setting, but the story is awkward and it's straight up not an imsim anymore, it's a linear setpiece shooter
>>
>>
>>746603791
>Unfortunately a lot of people saw the regenerating health and just thought "CoD ripoff
Don't forget the two gun limit, the dedicated melee attack instead of being a seperate weapon, the fact that you get thrown supplies to you on-mass by Elizabeth so you don't have to worry about scavenging or buying them even on 1999 mode, and how inbetween the arenas its just corridors so there is barely any freeroaming map traversal.
>>
>>746606596
>survivor if you want so much as a mdoest challenge
even then it doesn't last past neptune's bounty
>>
>>746606919
Is that Minerva’s Den in A tier?
What makes it so much better than base 2?
t. didn’t play it
>>
Finished 2 last week and I must say the dual wield improves the combat so very much. I never considered Bioshock 1's story very good so 2 is easily the better game for me. I'm going to play Infinite after I finish Vomitoreum and Spec Ops The Line. I played as Dr. Bees btw.
>>
>>746607997
>Infinite after I finish Vomitoreum
whats the difference?
>>
>>746607854
BS2 has a weaker plot, and its gameplay loop is built around infinite
>stand still for this zerg rush mode
Meanwhile, Minerva's Den plays more like SSR SS2 and BS1
>>
>>746606596
>like the incarnation of what was happening to shooters in that era, systems being ripped out and replaced with cheap spectacle
I disagree, they knew what they wanted to make and they've made it. A shooter that takes place on sky islands where you ride from one island to another on rails, that's what they wanted. Not sure why they made that and called it Bioshock but I don't doubt their sincerity
>>
>>746606919
>burial at sea that high
SSfags are always midwits
>>
>>746608791
Eh i wobbled on putting it lower. But it was fun.
>>
Is Bioshock 2 good?

I loved 1, hated Infinite, but everyone seems divided on 2.
>>
Bioshock Infinite, where Kenny L starts off the design doc with the words "neo noir detective story" only to directly after get bored of it and go back to "hell yeah save them girls haha"
>>
>>746608863
If you liked 1 you will like 2. It recycles most of the assets from 1 but adds dual wielding and makes the hacking less retarded.
>>
>>746599868
Start from System Shock 1 and 2 this time
>>
>>746608863
It's the dark souls 2 of bioshock
>>
>>746608395
it plays basically the same as the main game dude, there's like one big daddy fight that's mildly tough because you don't have all the weapons yet and that's it
>>
>>746599868
>1
boring
>2
boring
>3
barely serviceable
BioShock is a dead series for a good reason
>>
>>746608863
Do you like unskippable horde modes?
>>
>>746609598
"horde mode" implies you're fighting more than a few enemies at a time
>>
>>746609725
Yes. It does.
>>
>>746610369
so it doesn't describe anything in bioshock 2

Just play Soma, Amnesia The Bunker, and wait for Ontos, dude
>>
>>746607292
Yeah it nixes the really pathetic survival horror mechanics of the first 2 and put resource management in the backburner. Ironically, the survival mechanics didn't work because the first two were way too forgiving, but the 3rd can be brutal and that one actually has a penalty for dying unlike the others.
>>
>>746599868
Skip Infinite, it's dogshit
>>
>>746599868
play 1 and pretend 2 & infinite don't exist
>>
You only need to play 1 and 2, everyone else is utter shit!
>>
>>746608725
I mean it's well known that bioshock infinite went through absolute dev hell and had pre-release versions which implied a higher degree of player choice and reactivity than we got.
>>
>>746599868
Shock series is 5 games.
