i'm pretty starved for anything that involves more than a dozen players per match. just too many devs are chasing that counter-strike/rs6/overwatch money. i think the only thing that'll get me back into a fast-paced, small-team competitive shooter is a Titanfall 3

the larger scale modes like Point Break and Power Shift are fun but are victims of whatever balancing decisions are made to suit the game’s core 3 person team format. atm invis and sonar is really popular with lights so Point Break matches are clusterfucks of guerrilla ambushes and loud screeching noises and it’s kinda just back shot city with no real structure. it didn’t feel like this last season and I find myself having less fun with those modes now which sucks ass

Movement autism does not matter below current Phantom and maybe mid/high Phantom beyond the very simple to execute mantle slide, wall jump juke spots and maybe one or two corner boosting spots interesting to learn. All of which you learn either naturally through playing or can learn to do in an afternoon of practice.
Yes if you're aiming for the high percentile the game gets quite autistic, but most people play to have fun and when playing at that level basic macro, basic movement skills and itemization are more important, all of which are heavily simplified compared to a pure shooter or pure moba. I'm low Oracle which is top 10% atm. When ranks settle it'll be like what, top 20-25% ? So yes I believe it's a quite simple game comparatively to other PvP games at an above average level of play.

Blame Embark for silently moving the attacker's spawn boundary back so that defenders can spawn camp, also shit matchmaking, fresh installs are thrown against rubies

Because it looks like every other B-tier unreal engine game on the planet.
