If you really think about it, game rental is how western gamers have grown up with more difficult games which has made up more willing to deal with that challenge. Jap games have been easier which is why they are gravitating to games with more convenient mechanics, even if that is just spending some more money on mtx.

This community split has been obvious for years and it's not just west vs east. There's players that just want action action action, and they love BBI because of that. And there's players that love the adventure side of the game, with the player forming their own party and setting off from the city.
