Replaying on expert I modded in jedi hawks and the mando jetpack trait to a gunslinger glup shitto, yeah I can see why the early levels weren't built for this man. Sep missions are mostly a joke for the gunslinger since even without cly's warrior tree the mobility from the jetpack helps so much even if its just to do objectives quicker. As for jedi when your best tool is a push you tend to find a lot of ledges, and the 8hp heal per turn really means a lot more when you haven't bondmaxxed your hp to triple digits yet. On a side-note astromechs are fun as hell. The description of the scan negating all defenses is some bullshit when the scanned debuff says it only removes 4 defense but man redistributing ap to my key players is useful and bombing bitches with 6 grenades is funny as hell. Its no replacement for an actual medic since they can practically double the value of each stim but its still goated for support

If you want to farm bonds, just recruit randoms left and right and get the upgrade that characters you leave behind at base get +bonds training during missions. Even my benched characters were massively overstatted because they ended up getting something like +4 bonds with 15 other characters, so you get ridiculous interactions like the jedi doing 30+ damage on each pull/push due to +1 range damage stacks, or trick having 250 hp and 20 defense by the final mission despite never having been part of the team himselfGame's a bit too easy so even on extreme you have to constrain your build paths to get an actual challenge (i.e. no cly, no jedi, no gunslingers)

There's 6 story characters, 7 if you count the droid, plus Hawkes, and the total cap on characters is 20.You don't have to recruit prior to getting the +bonds upgrade done, but there are some operations and reputation rewards that give +bonds to the whole company, so I'd say fill slots as soon as they become available to make the most of it. Hold off on them as much as you can until you get all the story operators though, except for Luco since he sucks and takes forever to recruit
