So let me get this straight, the game is no longer a f2p scam? Does the offline mode play totally like a normal video game? Based if true, but I smell a catch, other than the $20 price tag
>>746660820been playing it a for a few hours. they completely rebalanced the game and have given way more currency and resources for rewards.
A soulslike where you lose your weapons when you die, what a truly fucking shit idea

anyone sharing save files?
>>746661704Probably. It's interesting enough to be worth it imo. I'm not aware of another game that mixes jankass action combat and extraction/survival to this degree. Preparing for a long route through high level areas where anything could instakill me to unlock the next character tier was very memorable.>>746662365I love the dev team's stupid channel. Director-san might suck at making games but he seems passionate about ithttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJj-iDpPISo
>>746661704>If I liked dead rising and NMH, will I likeProbably yeah>Are the levels cool and challenging?pretty challenging yeah. Enemies are fucking ruthless, they chase you to the end of the earth, run just as fast as you and if you are in their line of sight they will notice you from miles, so usually there aren't ways to cheese them. Your dodge has pretty much no iframes and blocking hurts unless you perfect block, so it's all about careful positioning, moving in and out of ranges like in an old beat em up. Item/resource management are also huge parts of the game as everything you have breaks eventually so you always need to manage when to use or store whatLevel designwise the early zones are the least interesting parts of the game and the enemy/item variety is also kinda low there, but it gets more interesting the more you climb. Otherwise don't stress over the "if you die you lose your character/have to start over" thing, you usually have enough money to revive your dead char for a while.
>>746662189They did say if Inferno bombs then their studio is done. You'd think it'd be over for them but they're still pumping out new seasons for it. They've definitely riding out some kind of contract with Gungho.
>>746662189I dont know why the devs are so stubborn. They had a winning formula and went the opposite direction twice.
I don't know if this has already been accounted for in the Offline DLC update, but I think it would be nice if they bestowed some of the free, limited-time DLC's that gave you exclusive blueprints. I'm sure there are others that I missed out on.

Does the tower keep to the same daily rotation of floors? Will the old spreadsheet still be accurate?
>>746664009>Will the old spreadsheet still be accurate? Please tell me I didn't just buy some autistic retard game. Can I just have fun playing or do you need to study a fucking spreadsheet to learn this game.
>>746664213The map was different every day of the week, some layouts were better to find specific items. Not sure what the spreadsheet was, I just used the wiki to plan routes and crafting.
>>746661017You can pay to recover your corpse, including the inventory, and you basically should always do that. Only gear you have found is lost (durability bar is white for found, versus green for armour/weapons you've researched, but also durability is quite low early on, so it can get destroyed on death too).>>746662872Saves have your Steam/PSN ID embedded apparently, so it probably won't work if someone gives you theirs. We should get a save editor soon.>>746663512There's already a mod to reactivate the NMH BP quests:>>746663986All the free BPs I think are available as quests. >>746664653eh alright whatever ill give it a go.
So how is TDM handled now and base invasions? Is the Tower still a daily rotating? What about Uncle Prime? I know log-in bonuses and event/weekly quests are all gone.
>>746663986what else is in that master.db file? an anon in the other thread mentioned a check for the offline keywas he messing with us?
>>746664009They still rotate. Think the Into the Pit event is always active on Tengokuji - 33F, but that's the only change.>>746665126The spreadsheet was basically just easier to use than the images of the tower, and some other basic guide things, like weapon damage splits. You don't really need to worry about it. There was another spreadsheet for tracking R&D (basically you acquire blueprints and then build weapons/armour to be able to buy them from the shop in your base) but that is outdated now by the equipment rework and is more of an endgame thing.
>>746660820I own the base game. Why the fuck is the DLC not free? I need to spend 20 bucks to keep the game I already bought, what the fuck?
>>746665965You don't own the game, they took down the servers. So you can't play it again until you buy the Offline DLC :)
>>746666043How about i fucking murder you, huh? how about that?
>>746661704i don't know how this offline version is, but the previous version was one of the hardest games i've ever played, definitely harder than any souls games. And it was really fun, i always came back to play after a while. Since the current version os offline, i'm assuming that they removed the tedious grinding that you had to do in order to advance floors
>>746665965>Why the fuck is the DLC not free? They should have given it free to any sap that paid for a monthly express pass at the least. Everyone else should be given the finger. You had 9 and a half years to beat the game at no cost.
The biggest fuck-you I remember in this game was all of the permanently gated off escalators in the 41-49 range, making it a bitch to know what the routes you can take simply by looking at the map. Wiki or making your own map was required.
>>746662239does anyone know how many floors they've added?

>>746666573Think the cap is now 401F for Tengoku, and the Neo towers go to 151F now. So 250 floors technically, but only 50 for the "top".
>>746666992damn that's a good amount of floors. I never got past 100th + floor in the online version anyway

>>746667212R for menu is one of the most obtuse choices ever. God bless Japan and their inability to navigate a keyboard
>>746667338I use both for the game. Anytime I use my Kamas I got left hand on controller for movement, right hand on mouse for aiming/jump/interact. Took awhile to get the mouse-specific rebindings working well enough for it.If the game had any semblance of auto-aim I'd just stick with controller, but you absolutely want to line up head-shots on the tattoo build I got going.
I was able to beat the game back at PS4 release. I spent 30 bucks on death metals and that was enough to get through the game. It was fun, but I always thought it could be way better without the f2p design. Not sure I want to replay the whole thing again.
For me it was that one song called Let it Die
>>746665463Masters.db is just the server database. It's everything that was handled server-side, like drop rates, enemy stats, and even the game's text. It might be possible to patch out the DLC check through it, but it's pointless when you can just unlock the AppID with any DLC unlocker of your choice. It's unencrypted, so if you want to look at it yourself you can just grab a DB Browser, like https://sqlitebrowser.org/dl/If you want to try editing stuff, the game loads it whenever you boot the game or return to title, so do it while in the lobby.
>"let it die">look inside>they keep it alive

>>746669053>So they didn't even attempt to change anything for the better, just made the early game easier? No, they made a huge chunk of the pre-50 grind significantly better to nonexistent. You can now use Dusty 5 or whatever it's called at the start of each floor infinitely for 5000 KC per usage meaning you can now do runs longer than a few floors without having to leave since they were DM-locked before. You can now buy the express pass to avoid elevators if you're gonna be playing for a few hours as the cost of a few trips from 20+ down to BF is more than the pass now. They nerfed some of the higher tier enemies if I understand it correctly. They made it so you can buy 10 storage slots for 10k KC.

This would actually be pretty great on steam deck since you don't have to worry about losing connectivity with offline. Considering setting up my controller track pads like the ps4 ones. Feels awkward doing mushroom stuff when I'm used to the ps4 trackpad

>>746672610>gunslong range weapons are not that common>relyno.
I remember playing this and recalling that every 10 levels the game got exponentially harder until you just hit a wall that makes it very hard to progress unless you grind or pay. Is this still like that? I remember the gameplay itself being decent enough and the style was cool, but once I hit that point I was just not able to make any progress anymore and quit.
>>746662189it had nothing to even do with arc raiders, it just wasn't what the dedicated playerbase of LiD wanted, so they went back to LiD, lmao.It being an extraction game didn't help, but it's like saying that dark and darker failed because of tarkov, they're tangentially related at best and there's tons of other bullshit bogging them down.let it die chiefly being the AI sloppa they pushed all over inferno.
Looks like the Chargers event is permanently active too.
>>746670494So a daily pass is 30k coinsBut the premium express pass is 165k?does the express really last for fucking 30 days? that's insane if so, might as well be free(I also still have 28 free passes from when they were super generous the past few years)>>746672610using guns is entirely optional, not super common, they can just be useful particularly the assault or sniper riflesand this game supports "dual controls"meaning it can receive inputs from both a controller and mouse/keyboard at the same timea trick I was using a lot was left hand controller right hand mouse when needing to use guns; left hand fingers bring up the aim down sights and then I can aim with my mouse with hyper precisionalso the game is definitely playable as a full kb/m user
>>746672878Yes, but the difference now is that you aren't stonewalled by grind like you were originally preventing you from climbing without 15+ hours of investment. Basically anything under 5*s only requires 1 boss metal instead of multiple, you can now just buy an express pass for two floors worth of KC and jump between boss floors to farm these metals, and it's overall much easier to start building up. You aren't stuck just using the iron and building up to some upgrades. There's also things like the Bloodnium machine (The meat thing next to the shop) which has daily rotating special blueprints that are relatively cheap, have extremely low requirements, extremely low upgrading requirements for the first tier (I just got the DIY EL top and the entire first upgrade was free while the next three just cost basic floor 6-11 mats), and start at 2-3*.
>>746672889that's just generic tagging for NPC haters, no? I remember it being like that at launch too before the states/countries filled out.
>>746673098>which has daily rotating special blueprints that are relatively cheapStill? I was under the impression they'd be getting rid of everything time-dependent in the game with the Offline update. Unless they shuffle the contents every time you visit your base.
>>746673179they barely changed anything other than flat replacing DM costs with KC.
RIP Ohio. With a logo like that, you were always meant to be the official /v/ team
No borderless huh
According to modern developers, doing this is completely impossible. The security risks and logistics of making your game playable offline are just something you can't do and never have been able to do.
So I only started playing the game back a couple months before the 9th anniversary (I gave up waiting to see if it'd get an Offline version, and of course fucking two months later it got announced). One thing I was wondering all that time is, is there a reason why you could never see the Defense layout of other players?
>>746673506There's only security risks if it's the kind of game that still needs some form of networking to other players (eg. MMOs, bro-op, games with self-hosted servers, etc), in which case having to cover your bases for RCEs becomes a concern.
PSA, DH menu is still usable for emergency pause
>>746673540You used to be able to see it 1:1 but of course that meant people just picked the easiest bases and people would get completely obliterated. They had to re-do the entire TDM system due to it, because top ranks would refresh constantly until they got a low rank, then crush them over and over and over and over by taking a fake loss at the start to keep them in the revenge menu.It let you max out your rank in like,3 hours.
>>746673098Is the offline worth it? I never got too far in the game so I wasn't ever that great. I think I made it to floors 20-30 or something? Maybe crossed to floor 31 before I hit the aforementioned problems and eventually quit. Does the game get more interesting in the later floors or is it just more of the same but just harder?
>>746673616Don't know why there isn't just a dedicated pause button at that point. I got used to afking in the Escalator transitions during the game's life. Obviously don't pause the game with regular menus open since having to fuck with your inventory in the middle of combat is part of the game.
>>746673160No, Dev Haters now just have generic names. This is identical to when the event was running (Picture related).
what are the chances of a mod for co-op eventually coming out?or just any mods in general
>>746673698Guess they were just too lazy to redo the UI then at that point.>>746673734Did they tone them down any? I remember the guy with the RPG in the 21-30 range was complete aids for the game at the time if you got caught offguard in a narrow part of the map, or that fucking wooden maze. The hardcore haters in Tengoku were also fucking cancer.
>>746673796Mods, yes. Co-op, no, since the game playerbase is niche and the game has no live networking support built into it. Everything was async and handled by your client once the server told it what to queue up for that level/defense.The levels are too fucking cramp for co-op anyways. A shame Inferno's levels aren't any better since it could have been retooled into a bro-op focused LiD.
>>746673823pretty much, it was one of the things they just said "we want to re-visit TDM more specifically in the future" and then it just stopped being a relevant thing once people figured out rage decals+RPGs became meta and pretty much everyone stopped doing TDM so they had to start locking new weapon types behind it lmao
>>746673506with all the comments I've read so far bitching about everything the offline version should have been and "WHAT? 20 DOLLARS TO PLAY THE FORMERLY ONLINE ONLY FREE TO PLAY LIVE SERVICE GAME OFFLINE IN PERPETUITY??? YOU FUCKING JEEEWWSSSSSSSS HOW DARE YOU NOT MAKE IT FREE FOREVER" I don't blame any dev telling these subhumans to kill themselves, I now support devs shutting down feel the same way about all the stupid cocksuckers not even willing to give LID Inferno the slightest chance just telling devs to kill themselves because MUH LET IT DIE. NOTHING SHOULD EVER CHANGE OR END. MAKE THE SAME GAME FOR 100 YEARS, THE 80 PLAYERS ON STEAM WILL FUND YOUR COMPANY!!!! APPEAL TO US ONLY! WE WANT LET IT DIE 2 TO BE THE SAME GAME BUT WITH A DLSS5 FILTER!From the network test alone I felt Inferno had potential. Very, very cool world and aesthetic, especially since they didn't have the benefit of Suda to give them ideas and aesthetics. Now they're adding PVE stuff but it's too late.
>>746673975I tried inferno, in the free tests. It was fucking sloppity slop GARBAGE that was clearly them using the deathverse concepts and turning it into an extraction game where specific weapon types, just like deathverse, were insanely overtuned and objectively the best. Which is why they now have to remove PVP because the game became everyone using fucking gauntlets. Literally every single person. EVERY. PERSON. All 50 of em.
I saw a video of the game once and there was a guy wearing only his underwear eating mushrooms off the floor and walking around in a nasty back alley/sewer looking map. And now I'll buy it in a couple of day.Weird.
>>746672610Outside of certain gimmicks and enemies, they're not that useful. Mostly because of ammo limits. They can be strong, but I wouldn't rely on them.
>>746673913>The levels are too fucking cramp for co-op anyways.i haven't played this since release and i do remember feeling that way. i really think a bro-op game in this style could be huge but not with how they ran the f2p LiD.>nearly endless dungeon crawler tower>some roguelite sensibilities>co-opwhy this this so hard for devs to do?
Please god give me a mod to set the tower rotation without changing my system clock
>>746673975If 80 players all give one dollar to the company that's enough to buy ~80 noddle cups. Enough to feed them til the next game.
>>746674105Sums up the game very well. It's trashpunk. But yeah, there's no other game like it out there, except the sequel, but we don't talk about that.
How do the pay to win mechanics work on the offline mode?the game had you paying real money for revives and buffs
If I love NMH 1 & 2, Silver Case, FSR and 25th Ward then would I like this too or was this the beginning of his Rick and Morty humor?
>>746674176Devs hate anything that isn't a carbon copy of some extremely successful game, that's why.The fact that a very niche PS3 game survived this long (presumably making money) should be enough of a clue that there's an interesting formula there, but no. More generic FPS and open world games, please.
>>746673956I don't know why rage decals were meta. It made it even easier to predict what the AI in diamond would do and you could just side-step or bait out the attack since they can't block during them.> so they had to start locking new weapon types behind it lmaoI will say, TDM Flamethrower was definitely worth the time I wasted getting an unlocked version back then.Anyways, since the game is offline-only now, and people can cheat without repercussions, anyone know wtf this part of your base was supposed to be?
>>746674261I don't know nigger maybe you could read literally anything they've said about how it's been changed in detail before asking
>>746674261Costs of all items are reduced and now everything is paid for with the free currency. So the access to the express elevator that previously you had to use premium currency for? Now all one in game currency. Prices seem reasonable too.
>>746674261Last I played, they were fairly generous with the revives via events and shit, but desu they really aren't needed. By buffs I assume you mean the stickers which definitely aren't needed.
>>746674176>nearly endless dungeon crawler tower>some roguelite sensibilities>co-opplay Barony
>>746674291This isn't really a story game. If you like the atmosphere, you'll like it, but it's a very gameplay-first type of game, and grindy. Nothing like the other games in your list.
>>746673506also cost lot of money n shiet
>>746674291I don't think Suda was really that involved.
>>746674405nta but there's no more premium currency usage at all?
>>746674453i'll get shit on for this, but i hate the art style (and i prefer third person). it makes up for it by having splitscreen but still slightly off the mark for what i want.
>>746674496The vibe is Suda all over, though.
>>746674405>Prices seem reasonable too.Not even sure what a player would bother with express pass for besides TDM insurance, which they won't really need to care about until they're floor 40+, especially now since you're not cucked waiting on purchasing cooldowns to stock up on your best weapons/armors.
Do people that played it previously get the offline version or do you still have to rebuy it?
>>746674571Deep Down
>>746674608buy it but you can import your character and progression
>>746674291If you're looking for something story heavy you're not going to find it here. This game is all about the atmosphere, music and brutal gameplay. NMH was the beginning of his Rick and Morty humor

>>746662189Different teams made both those games though. This is a franchise in name only. >>746674660it's likely just the check for existing save data on the server, I imagine it'll disappear once they fully shut them down in December

All references to it have been deleted.>>746674842Doesn't really matter, since we'll have a save editor soon enough, but I'm just glad the game wasn't just deleted, like Deathverse (and probably Inferno eventually).
>>746674827I've wanted a game like that for so long but nobody has made something quite like what they were promising, Barony and the upcoming games Deep Dish Dungeon and Ignite the Depths are probably the closest but it's just not the same
>>746674951Should have just made the update include every player's save file on that platform but strip out the Fighter Names (you can freely rename them anyways), would have been easier for them. Database shit compresses easily and the game would only need to look it up once to compare your Steam or PSN against against the table.>>746674929Same floors. Only real perk of express pass for me was cheaper fighter recovery when you die on floors where you're hit with the full 250k KC otherwise, as well as base insurance.
They made it too easy to progress. You did not beat the game.
>>746673708If you only have 31-40 left it's not gonna be that much better as it's even more strict than 21-30 in terms of a gear and mushroom check. Realistically you're just missing an unfun boss fight that constantly stunlocks you and a pretty good final cutscene. Now, do I think the current offline is worth playing? Yeah, I wish I had the inventory send back and express pass to make traversal that much more fun. I wish I had 10k KC inventory expansions. You're still gonna have to farm but it's so much more reasonable now.
>>746674740It needs some kind of connection when you boot the game and when you return to title screen. These are the two instances the game loads the masters.db file, so my completely-zero-knolwedge-about-networking guess is that it's checking locally but not actually going anywhere.>>746675057Sylvia/Queen B 5* version got added in the offline patch. Travis and Shinobu are still unique, but not very useful.
I liked this game, but it feels kind of pointless after you finish the main story. There's all this gear and grinding you can do after the fact but it's just in service of the half baked indirect PVP mode, and you stop seeing actual new stages and content.
Long shot but is there a way to transfer your PS4 save into the free version?I wouldn't mind starting from scratch but it'd be nice to continue an old save.
>>746675394>Sylvia>Queen SpadesTravis bro...
>>746675290If you just swear off revives I'd say you're still playing the game correctly.
>>746675290I did not beat the game, but I got to like level 33 and that was good enough for me. I felt good about that.I downloaded my save and backed it up and will now give it a shot on a new save.
>>746675712You can do that? I want to start a new save but trashing my years old 500+ hour save just feels wrong
>>746675426The main story meaning Floor 40...Pretty sure there are multiple other endgame grindy "event" or hidden bosses to fight outside the main story. The Jackals for one. Killing the Jackals and then their later alt versions (which I know next to nothing about) has nothing to do with that and is endgame content, right? And there's some other non-Jackal special boss encounters.>>746675807Yes when you log in it asks you "do you want to look for a save on the server?" you say yes, get your save, go in game to make sure it's all good and proper, then you can exit. Go into your LetItDie folder and there will now be a "Savedata" folder in it. Back that folder up and then remove it. When you start the game it'll ask again to look for server side saves. Say no. You're playing a new game. Now presumably you can just swap out the folder (I haven't tested it but everybody else said it works fine). It is likely tied to your Steam ID so people can't just trade saves willy nilly, but you should be able to have multiple. It works like Metal Gear Solid V, basically. Where they don't have save slots and it's tied to (formerly) online, but you can swap shit folder side and have multiple saves.
>>746675807You can't, you choose to either keep your old save or erase it. It asks you when you boot the game up. Like he said, he backed his original save up and then deleted it from the game to get the check again to have a new save.
>>746661704Ive played let it die and remnant and I preferred remnant every step of the way to scratch that ‘itch’
>>746675542I honestly don't know why the revives are so fucking cheap. Should have just reduced the cost of reviving your Fighters back at the based before the Express pass. Learn to beat every boss/midboss in one attempt (w/ or w/o lifeshroom) since you're going to need to know how for Tengoku.
>>746676139If you buy it on steam are you able to pull old save data if you played it on playstation?
>>746675392>Yeah, I wish I had the inventory send backThis alone is the only thing making me contemplate picking it up. The inventory limitation for doing 41+ was aids for farming. Now I can just dump 5k KC into Dustin5 every other floor as needed. Shame they didn't add a "place into storage" option from the delivery box though to save going back & forth between them.
>>746676139Yeah that's what I mean, backing up the save externally. They really should add save slots though.>>746676058Cool, I might try it later. I hope it works.

>>746676779Because fuck P2W, that's why. I would've paid full price for an offline mode back in the 360 days.
>>746676280No, it only pulls from the account you're on. If you buy it on PS and copy that save, then you might be able to transfer that to PC eventually with a save editor. Might as well just start again on PC now and edit your save later though.

>>746682167The world is largely conceptualized by Suda and he got them their soundtrack but the first game wasn't really a "Suda game" anyway. Suda gave creative input. I didn't even know they did a Gravity Rush collab, or if they did I forgot. I really hope that stuff comes to this version (and we get some nice quality of life mods) now that offline has started to open it up. Being able to tweak a master file to enable shit is already promising. We legitimately just need some fag youtuber to make a video about the game praising its new offline mode, that does, I dunno, $500k views. So clearly the time mechanic still exists* for certain systems even if weapons/armor no longer take "research time" and can be bought instantly. So I would say yes? I didn't even play the infinite climb afterwards, I wonder if they ever added a superboss or something to the top of the tower, last I checked postgame only had a lame "gj senpai" message if you actually reached the top of the tower.

>>746690323>>746690058It's definitely got elements of "kusoge" to it. That Japanese style of jank you should have come to expect at this point from Suda/Suda adjacent projects. But the whole package makes up for any little shortcomings and the raw gameplay itself is nowhere near bad enough to detract. And as you get into the deeper systems like the tower floorplan rotating through the days and having to go up different routes and shit, finding the traveling special shop, etc. it gets more and more interesting.

>>746690939>>746690840about the refund comment and specifically "2 hours": the presentation of the game is incredibly stylish, well done, cool, enjoyable, fucking great, creative, excellent. If you like this type of thing you won't be disappointed. And you'll get a good idea of the basic gameplay systems well within the first 2 hours unlike modern games which could be argued try and "trap" you by frontloading shit and delaying shit. But keep in mind it's not a super story heavy game, so while it has incredible bones, you won't be getting that crazy level of lore and presentation "constantly" (just every set of floors and with some other stuff in between). Also don't think the first floors are indicative of the whole game, either. The first are very grimey and dank and sewer-y but later you'll be seeing apocalyptic city ruins and Japanese shit and circus shit etc.>>746691262yes the initial body you get is just a basic body iirc but later you have like 6-8 different classes with different base stats, like more health/defense oriented, attacker oriented, or climbing oriented (like 6 more backpack slots than normal type of thing) and as you level up the TIER of fighter you can recruit/build raises and so does its max stats
>>746691262there are bodies with different classes and ranks. like Striker for melee and one for loot capacity and such. again, I can't recall details but those classes rank up as you climb I think, boosting their stats.
>>746691347in that case I'll just use creamapi to get the DLC for free then

How does getting raided work offline? Or do you not get raided at all?
>>746691557Maybe it was confusing, my post was saying unlike modern games which try to deceive you, you will know if it's worth playing within 2 hours (and you'll probably like the presentation a lot if you're into Suda's insane off the wall kind of style).
>>746691025You think the game should be casual?
>>746691659Sometimes they'll just simulate a raid against you I guess. I had a chalk outline when I came back from my run earlier. I've also taken two TDM defenders captive today, and that's as many as I think I ever had in online. That get 100 captures achievement might actually be doable now.

>>746691715>>746691759I'll give it to you guys straight. The game is about grinding; I spent countless hours grinding materials. Back when I got that DLC, I was pretty far in the game already and then when I got it, I was able to launch myself forward to the very end of the main game (Floor40/50 boss?)Uncle Death Super Pack items remove the grind and make it a streamlined experience. Something that you'll be able to beat in a fraction of the time. It's that good.

Playing the game for 200 hours and using the TDM system as my main money farming tool and I'd get like 1 capture in every 100 fucking invasions.

>>746692415I played during the playtest when my graphics card had blown up and I only had one from like 10 years ago as a backup. A disaster for a UE5 game, I was lucky to get over 20 frames. It also had clear problems problems for the genre, like the extraction points not being clear enough (which they apparently fixed within the first month) but the presentation of the world was still incredible and absolutely bonkers and honestly I love the color palette and enemy and npc and world designs, it made me very interested. On that front I have a way, way more favorable view of it overall than most. The first player I encountered I managed to kill, so I felt good about that! But LID players didn't want any PVP elements at all. They wanted pure tower climbing PVE shit and bitched about it and boycotted it to a miserable death over that fact. Now they ARE retooling it to focus entirely on PVE instead of "PVEVP" but obviously it's too late, unless they had some sort of miraculous relaunch. I literally didn't buy it basically entirely because I KNEW with the reception of its niche audience immediately being "FUCK YOU, YOU SHOULD DIE FOR ADDING PVP TO A GAME THAT WAS PVE WITH ASYNCHRONOUS PVP" that it would just be a waste of money because the game needs players to function. Also (while I don't know how true it is precisely because of how mischaracterized by "influencers" Let It Die 1's paid content was) the microtransactions in Inferno are apparently everything people claimed LiD's were, actually *really bad* and egregious and moneypinching (and not just a matter of "git gud"/"grind more"), so there's that too.pic related i loved these lil niggas like you wouldn't believe>>746692792>>746692470everyone should, it'll be in your storage box in your main waiting room area (off to the right of Hitler and the recycling vending machine thing, will have a little light lit up green if you have new goodies too)

>>746692247everyone keeps saying it was suda that the bands made the music for but never mention that it was akira yamaoka who did the most work behind the musicyamaoka is a blessing for video game music
>>746693608Yamaoka and Suda were a dream team (Mikami too). Shadows of the Damned's soundtrack is so fucking good.
>>746693608Was just looking for info regarding this. Find an old interview, neat read.https://web.archive.org/web/20161222233839/https://thegamefanatics.com/let-it-die-composer-soundtrack-interview/>Matt: LET IT DIE uniquely features over 100 Japanese musicians from a vast array of genres. How did you arrive at this choice for the game? Was the concept something you had been wanting to do or did the game influence the decision?Akira Yamaoka: I came up with this idea of this campaign to feature over 100 Japanese bands and I have personally met all of them and led the project by myself.>Arika Yamaoka: I have personally selected all the musicians with my own taste, regardless of their genres and popularities. All I gave them was a phrase “LET IT DIE” and did not show them any game footage nor explain the game concept, so they can develop their song with their own theme, inspiration, and imagination they get from the phrase “LET IT DIE”. All songs are their original pieces and titled as “LET IT DIE”.
It's funny how much they spent on the music when you originally couldn't even hear it outside of the lobby.
>>746693735yeah i remember when it first came out you could ONLY hear the music in the lobby then a couple years later finally added a radio for while you are climbing the toweri really wonder why they didnt have that on release if they went through so much effort on the music?
>>746693812I mean thematically, the tower is dark and depressing and filled with ambient dread music normally, and when you get back to the lobby you get to release the tension of the climb with some good music, do your research, buy and sell shit, maybe check on quests, stop and listen to some tracks in the radio menu, then look forward to the music when you get backIt's only failing is that the music is too good and there's too much of it and while it fits the mood and the feeling that the tower climb is intended to elicit, the ambient tracks are not anywhere near as fun to listen to. The more you go back to the lobby the more you wish you could bring it with you.
>>746693735>>746693812Well, you would also hear the selected lobby music of whoever you invaded while doing so. Pretty sure I first heard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CEODyo4osE while invading someone and was like HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THAT and went to find it.
>>746693973I remember being able to enable the Tower Radio for the climbs, is that not available for the offline version? have you checked the settings?
>>746694046I'm talking about the ideas for why it would be designed that way before the patches. You can indeed still enable radio during the climb.
>>746694046back when the game first released on PS4 it didnt let you listen to the radio in the towereventually it was patched to let you and the PC version had that natively because it came out years after PS4 releasei believe now they even let you create your own playlist ingame? not sure havent played for awhile but saw some anons talking about it
I changed my system clock's date to mid October and it changed the title screen. I was curious if it would do this. Surely the "seasonal" stuff is still in, like the parashrooms and pumpkinshrooms?
>>746694213I keep seeing people mention a playlist too but haven't found a way to do that
>>746694468I can't say I've ever seen a playlist option. You can manipulate the radio directly if you go to the center of the lobby and return to the arcade, it's to the left of Naomi. You've got the radio stations, such as they are, but it's mostly whether you hear randoms songs on the radio with ad breaks or without, the ambient tracks, or just go through and listen through them one by one.
>>746694468>>746694213>>746694046So what you do isenable tower radio in your config optionsthen go outside to the Arcade where Uncle Death and all of them areThen go slightly to the left of the girl to the radio where you'd normally select your single music track to playInstead go all the way to the start and select 00 - OBS Needle Sounds. There's no curated playlist function apparently, but this will play the entire soundtrack on shuffle when doing tower stuff instead of the same repeating song of your choice (and if you go into your gameplay settings again it'll say which track by which artist is currently playing).
>>746694376did that affect the TDM and Uncle Prime timers at all?

>Ultra 3D Glasses W1 give funshots despite being an event itemnigger
>>746693973>It's only failing is that the music is too good and there's too much of itIt's also a f2p game meant to last years (and it did), so having 100 tunes just for a lobby you visit frequently isn't entirely a waste of resources. Although granted, they could have added them over time instead of 100 of them from the get go.

i forgot let it die servers were going to die at the start of september i was going to log back in to collect all my mail and shit but now i cant
>>746696032>or at least a mod that reduces the material grindthey already did that for all recipes below Tier 4, up to a 75% reduction
>>746661929It starts off as that. In the later strata you can't rely on picked up weaponry anymore and the game devolves into a grindfest where you mostly make treks to particular single floors that are available only on certain days of the week to have a chance to get one (1) of a material you need 12 of to upgrade one (1) of the shop's weapons.Rinse and repeat with multiple weapons (because the cooldown on buying copies INCREASES goes up as you rank the weapon up, so you can't rely on just one weapon) and with each piece of armor you want and you have a horrendous grindfest with the added bonus of the death penalty robbing you of a fuckton of money and sending you back to the coin mines. This is all from before they retooled the game to be offline. I would hope given the rebalance that this is no longer the case, but I haven't played it since then.

>>746697789Bungie was in a lawsuit with an author who claimed they infringed on his copyright by lifting a significant portion of their early campaign stories from his works. Years ago Bungie removed a bunch of old content from the game (robbing players of the ability to access any of it which they paid for) and didn't keep ANY kind of backups or files that could be used as evidence of what that content actually contained. It was so bad that they ended up having to settle because they couldn't sufficiently prove anything in their own argument.

>>746660820I spent more time with this on my ps4 than Bloodborne. Those are also the only 2 games I played on my PS4.
>>746700893There's one Hater voiceline that's bugged in english, but in JP it's just groaning, the girls have cuter voice compared to ENOnly big loss is uncle D
>>746701246i dont think ive ever heard that ambient music either since i always had radio on
>>746701246it's a free game, there's gonna be a lot of people just barely touching itThat inflates the achievement stats
>>746701297I fully recommend going to the 20's with tower radio off, there's these little bits of incredible acoustic guitar that remind me of silent hill 3 music
Hoping for a way to get my save without paying and tainting my steam account with hacked dllsI just want to keep it as memento
>>746702396just pay up bro
>>746702429>bro just fall for the FOMOnyo
>>746702396creamapijust load up the game and when it says you need to buy the offline key alt f4 and then use creamapi on it and next time you load up the game it will ask you if you want to transfer your save
>game is called Let It Die>kept alive for whatever reason as a deformed grotesque husk of what it is supposed to be
>>746702669Doesn't steam "know" that you've used it though, even if I take it off after i'm done?
TDM is more fun against bots than it is the most cancerous setups possible.
>>746705440I hated getting to silver and suddenly every defender is a shooter with an uncapped KAMAS RE
>>746703043Fuck it nigger. Make a burner account.
who the fuck is barb
>>746703043people have been using creamapi for over a decade now and steam has never said anything about itvalve takes a hands off approach to piracy as long as you dont try to modify the steam client itselfpeople can get a warning if steam detects client modifications but its never happened for modifying the gamesits basically like modding a game with normal mods
>>746692968>But LID players didn't want any PVP elements at allThe funny thing is that only LiD players bought it so nobody was engaging in PvP at all past the first two days, and even during the first day it only happened in the first stage because everyone just wanted to progress.>the microtransactions in Inferno are apparently everything people claimed LiD's werePeople seriously overblow it, the bad thing is two paid characters and the really bad thing is the spine storage (stuff you don't lose when dying) was bigger if you bought the more expensive edition of the game, the problem being that the base version of the storage was not large enough to store weapons. The characters weren't overpowered, or anything, and the spine problem was fixed later but it's still not something that should have happened. There are overpowered healing items that you can spend real money on, but that's basically the same as spending money on continues: a crutch for shitters.Inferno's biggest problem is the repetition. The game's progression does not mesh with its gameplay structure at all. When you die, you go back to the first floor and do the EXACT same shit over again with zero variety. The flow of the first two stages, for example, is to book it to the second map to find a decent weapon, extract, then book it to the second map again to fight a boss that spawns in the exact same spot every time. The rarity of your weapon is way too impcatful to ever fuck around and try doing something different, you'll just end up quickly doing no damage, and the way to get good item drops is far too linear. Every season has made it significantly less retarded, so if it doesn't totally die it'll probably be good sooner or later.
>>746660820Kinda fucking wild that this is the game of all the options to show the entire rest of the industry how to end your live service game.
is the silver case goodi kinda want to try it but don’t want to emulate fsr and it looks like it’s a direct sequel
>>746690093Bought these directly from OTOTOY for the FLAC files, it's great.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQdur1uZqNghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiOgY2-AdV4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-H6JjiAitg
>>746673975I don't have a problem with paying for games or paying for an offline version or buying my games in general. I have plenty of money more than I know what to do with What I do have a problem with is DRM and treating the customer like shit. Any product you buy you should own forever, always offline when it comes to digital and physical media. Anyone who sells DRM does not care about the product or the people buying it.Steam does not care about the consumers or their experience if they are willing to let developers use DRM and develop it themselves. If you went to a restaurant and they made you a beautiful ribeye steak and then took a shit on it would that be okay? DRM is the exact same thing. You're not protecting anything. people will pirate it if they want to the only thing you're hurting is paying customers who want to have a physical copy to own.
I've read they removed some songs over the course of the game's lifespan. Is there any chance for them being added back via mods?
>>746706009i see, it's similar to how they treat spacewar users thenI'll keep it in mind if i don't end up buying it before the server goes to shit
I hope there'll be a mod that speeds up looting animation. It just takes a second too long. You have to open a box, char kneels, puts item away... zzz...
>>746662239this will never ever happen to mgs 5 btw :^)
You can now buy BPs of the DH lady's hat and her yes/no signs as weapons from hernia and that's pretty neat
>>746707773they removed like 3 songs years ago and added in 4 other songs
>>746701246It was an extremely grindy game if you were F2P so that makes sense.I don't even remember where I dropped it, maybe like the 5-6th floor?
>>746696787Reminder that at launch only bosses and end of dead off off shoot floor gold chests could have metals. It was ages before they added the other three methods. The farm was so much worse in the beginning
>>746708848Gyakufunsha had them at launch IIRC tooAnd then there's hernia, what's the 3rd one?
i dont understand why they nerfed the bowling ball so its rage move costs 3 instead of 1 nowit was mostly just useful for fighting bosses but now its not very useful at all
>>746695102Yes. The TDM "season" instantly ends and you get the rewards for your current rank. Uncle Prime was open, but I think the timer may have been up anyway. Zero raids during the month I went forwards, so I guess you can only get raided while actually in the tower now. Didn't check Hernia.
>>746710213you just answered your own question dude
>>746710209Haters dropping chests was a later addition, hernia machine too. Irc gyakufunshas setup exactly but it had a key material not present until later. I think it was metals it didn't have on launch, but you could buy ultra pure iron/chemo oil/etc super rare materials if it spawned. And you needed like 20 to get a reaper scythe or a jackal weapon going
>>746711639It did have manufacturer metals and stupidly i never bought them thinking i would never need that many blue/greenI think it was tuber metals that were lacking
