Usually transformation is a big pace breaker in every other game, with Seven Sirens being the closest to Pirate's abilities instant use. You see a wall you need to climb you have to wait a bit or input an OOT Ocarina command before you can traverse it. In the case of Seven Sirens however, it's transformations/pirate abilities are INCREDIBLY situational and 1 dimensional compared to Pirate's curse. Compare the drill from SS to the Pistol. The drill and frog can ONLY be used in sand and water, they're literally a key and lock with no other functionality. The pistol can be used anywhere to shoot at enemies and target any eye switch you can see in while being able to switch to any other item at your disposal.

PC is more of an action platformer than a metroidvania because it lacks the inherent design philosophy of a metroidvania and operates on a level based structure instead. Pirate's Curse is a really good game. It's one of those games that begs to be replayed. OP, while the game is still fresh in your mind, beat it AGAIN and I bet you can do it in under 5 hours.

i got the shantae bundle recentlythe first 3 games ran ok (aside from the first having the logo super loud, because it is not affected by the volume settings)all games seem to have console port syndrome, the keyboard control settings are only partial, you cannot change menu keys and it is annoyingthe fourth game runs atrociously, loading times are through the roof, and it cannibalizes cpu for some reason, terrible port
