On a lower difficulty the game tells you which way to block to activate a parry. On higher difficulties you actually have to watch which way your opponent is swinging in battle to parry it in the correct direction. It's already more than what Witcher 3 has you doing. I did hear the combat is repetitive though, but in terms of melee combat and swordplay; it does more than Witcher 3. I'm not familiar with the spells and vampire abilities, but I know at night you can use vampire skills, and during the day you get some other kind of power system? I think it's witchcraft or something?

I like leveling up, getting new equipment, exploring, making decisions on how to solve a quest, or progress a narrative, so Dawnwalker is more enticing to me than Onimusha. Onimusha looks great though, but it's not my go-to type of game that I just HAVE to play. I will play both eventually, but Dawnwalker could easily take me 60+ hours, so I think just buying that first is fine since I could get easily a week or two of gametime out of it. If I finish it or feel done with it then I can buy Onimusha and have something else that I was looking forward to play. People buying both of them are stupid anyway. You won't be able to play both at the same time anyway, and most will commit to either one or the other. It's better to buy the one you'd rather play first and save the other one for later. Some will play Onimusha first. Some will play Dawnwalker first. I personally don't like to juggle multiple games, but I guess some people do that. I just think it takes away from the experience when you play 3-4 hours of one game, then switch to another game and play 3-4 hours of it, and then just rotate each day.
