Then when the pieces are in place he will reveal his secret device built on the data analysis project - the Breach Rift Astral Power Harmony Overdrive Generator (BRAPHOG). Realizing the danger, Shinra will propose a daring plan: using Sister Ray against him. The WEAPONs will merge into a HYPERWEAPON capable of wielding it. Cloud will be the pilot, and Sephiroth -AMBER- will serve as the bullet. The shattering impact of the weapon will create a multiverse and disperse Sephiroth's essence, now redeemed, across it, setting the events of FF7R in motion.

I was going to put off playing the rest of the series till I had a PS5 (probably sometime in the 2030s with the way component prices are going) but if nothing transfers, there's no reason to wait.
