NR will go down as far better than Duskbloods specificlly because it was an offset of ER and had a huge pool of enemies, bosses and weapons to pull from, something that's essential for a roguelike game.

It's one of my favorite types of games where any day I can boot it up and play a match for 20 minutes and turn it off satisfied. When the game is enjoyable without any carrot on a stick, then it's a good fuckin game.

But changes depend on what character you're playing as, like evade distance, guard potential, and so on. For example Recluse, pictured in the OP, has a sort of floaty dodge which has terrible end lag. She's not a frontline fighter in the slightest. Her main ability lets her steal elemental 'residue' from enemies that have been hit by elemental attacks, and she regains FP/mana when she does this. After she gets three residues she fuses them and creates a unique spell that you can use. Since there's four elements she gets 12 different spells to use.But she also has really high Int and Faith stats, so if you find a staff/catalyst with a decent spell on it you can forego her own spells and just spam the weapon's spell instead.
