>>746695641Hinako is my favorite character in the series, but Uta and Yuki are pretty high up there. BR2 has a pretty great cast in general, it's one of those very rare RPGs where I like every character.
>>746696321I did buy the games! But not at release. I bounced off BR1 when I first tried it, and avoided BR2 until I revisited the series years later.
So whats the verdict on those 'new' games that came bundled in Quartet. Where they just a bunch of dialogue and few fights? Worth getting for just those 2 'new' games?
>>746699857Absolutely not worth getting for those twoThe BR Ray "recap" isn't even a recap and feels more like episode 24.5 of the anime and its maybe an hour and a half long if you're slowSun is a bit longer (5 hours for me with everything) and it does have a few fights technically but they are basically scripted and automatic. Sun has moments where you can kinda see the vision but it's just way too short to be worthwhile. It's maybe worth watching on youtube if you're a fan already. As well noted at this point the collections first game is censored but I also think its worth noting that its lighting is fucked up, I personally feel it loses something of its unique original atmosphere. No dlc is included in BR1 or Tie either so you don't even get that benefit, and in Tie's case you're missing out on some actual content evenOn the upsides for the collection, the reference stuff in Quartet is cool, like the timeline and glossary and relationship chart. All 7 of the Sun characters, plus Ruka from Ray are made playable in Tie which is pretty neat too, even if they lack dialogue. This version has several mods already too, like ones restoring DLC to both games, a mod to add proper descriptiosn to items I think there's an uncensor mod of some degree, theres even hard mode mods for BR1 and Tie in Quartet now. As always I strongly encourage anyone even remotely interested in the series to try the first game, I truly think it's something special and I love this entire series to death, even if Quartet could've been a lot better without much work and has a lot of compromises
>>746700287I'm surprised so much progress has been made with mods to it already.>try the first game, I truly think it's something specialIt's flawed in enough ways that I find it a little hard to recommend, but I get where you're coming from. It's a pretty unique game, and the few things it does well are pretty exceptional.
>>746702528I would say people should just play Second Light/Tie since it's way better in a game way while still being excellent in the Blue Reflection way but playing Tie first would be absolutely insane, I can't recommend that order to anyone
I like Sun's setting so much. I don't even care about the male protag, that's whatever. Knowing that there will never be a proper game hurts my soul in ways I don't think I'm ever going to get over it.
