The irony with the DLSS5 anime memes is that it exposes the true nature of how it actually works. It's not actually enhancing any part of the rendering pipeline or employing any sort of advanced graphics or rendering techniques, its literally a real-time deep fakes AI post filter that superimposes photo/video from its training data over top the game output with some intensity sliders.

Imagine you are using Ultra Performance DLSS. This puts very low load on the raster engine but the AI engine will work way harder since it has to creat 89% of the pixels. Compared to Quality, it only has to render 44% of the total pixels but you render more raster instead. Now throw in framegen, path tracing/ray tracing and this neural rendering thing, it really stresses the AI cores way more than just simply use the upscaler.
