I weep and mourn the loss of the community feeling of the old forums. There'd be a forum built around a single topic, like an MMORPG or something like Harry Potter. You'd sign up for it, and in the off-topic section, you'd just shoot the shit, talk about anything. The forum would have around 1k-25k users, and at least half weren't lurkers. I made so many friends when forums were a thing, and I talked to some for years (none of these friendships survived to this day, though)Back in like 2014-2015, Facebook groups were a substitute for these forums of old, but idk if it was the case in America. Anyway, these groups died around 2017 as well, and ever since then I haven't been able to find a proper community online, not even on Discord.Same goes even for Steam. I used to be in these "brigades" for Mount and Blade Warband Napoleonic Wars, I'd hop on TS3 to participate in events. Nowadays my friends list has like at most 2 or 3 people online, and I talk to none of them. Then again I'd rather kms than be bossed around by someone with a power trip in something equivalent, like an Arma clan.
