The HP bloat is so much more noticable when in a turn based game you can't compensate with skill like in a action game. Like I think I've used the same Jade/Hya/Trib/Fei team for years and can't remember really needing to swap out. Before that I'd been using Dan Ill and he'd carried me perfectly fine. The only times you need specific units are if you're doing the max difficulty forgotten hall or boss mode thing and those are honestly just poorly balanced in the first place and give barely any goodies.

I'd like to give context to my post by saying that I genuinely love this game, and what I mean by loving the game, I mean the actual gameplay, the team-building and turn-based combat. I don't play any other gacha, never wanted to, and have no intentions to. I'm not immersed in "gacha culture" and am not a "gacha player", I don't even own a proper phone, I just play it on my pc. The reason I play honkai star rail, is because I love the idea of a turn-based rpg with constantly expanding rooster that throws me new challenges every once in a while and shows me new, interesting kits to play with.I'm considering quitting because the game has become less about team-building and playing, and more and more about whaling out and pulling whatever is the new toy they want to shill. Every .0 patch they make a new archetype which has a pre-made team you're supposed to pull, and they'll use obnoxious debuffs/buff in the endgame or design bosses specifically to shill those teams to the point it's trivial to those teams to beat it, but everything else gets shafted. It was pretty bad in Amphoreus with HP shilling which made all mobs do obnoxious amounts of damage, it got worse now with Elation. There is obviously other terrible things in the game that are weighting in, most of them already mentioned in the thread, but I'd say this is the main one that's make me consider uninstalling and just take my time elsewhere.

What probably hurts HSR most is that out of all of Mihoyo's games, HSR is the MOST devoted to being a "smartphone game". Mihoyo's other games are pretty much hell to play with a touchscreen. You want to use literally anything else, whether it's keyboard+mouse or a controllers. I NEVER want to use a touchscreen for Genshin or Zenless and actively refuse to install this shit on my phone. They're TECHNICALLY designed for smartphones, but seriously, fuck that shit.HSR is the one exception. There is literally nothing in HSR that can't be very comfortable done on a phone. There's no content whatsoever in which a controller or kb+m would be an objectively superior option. Nothing really requires a significant degree of precision and tactile feedback isn't all that important either. Subsequently, the game is mechanically inferior to all of Mihoyo's other game's. The latest race event is the most standout example. The entire thing is played with three touch buttons. You can't even steer, you just control when certain moves are used. Most of the events are on this level or even worse. As a result, HSR is the only Mihoyo game I play exclusively on my phone.I think what happened was that Mihoyo looked at all their games, and when it came time to design HSR, they put their foot down and said, "Guys, we're a phone game company. At least ONE of our games needs to be made purely for phones."
