You just don't feel incentive to catch up and join them at the endgame.The most fun I've had playing Maplestory in the last 15 years was playing Royals with /v/ in 2015. I remember it all started from a simple Maplestory nostalgia thread, and in a spur of the moment, everyone ITT just decided to jump on Royals for a big nostalgia trip. We all KPQ'd together, Ant Tunnel grinded together, LPQ'd together, LMPQ'd together. Had at least 50 different people all leveling at the same pace, and even the people trailing behind were ok, because more people continued to join, and they all trained/PQ'd together.The worst part came when people started reaching 4th job. That's exactly when the game becomes extremely boring (preBB had really bad endgame), fewer people were joining and there was a big divide between guys who were there from the start, and new players who join, see a bunch of level 100+ and decide nah fuck this.The 15 day head start in Classic will have a similar effect. It's just too big of a gap.$60 USD just isn't worth it for a lot of people, but at the same time, they will be missing the most important part of the game, and end up left behind. This is why I highly doubt a /v/ guild will work this time around.

Granted this is where safety charms come into play as if you have one you avoid losing exp on death. Bosses are something that we won't have for a bit on launch, but that's where you do need to pay attention if your pet healed you or not as without a way to revive you are left out of the run if you die.
