I'll be honest I always found the platforming part of Kirby kinda braindead since the puffball can trivialize so much that is a threat to somebody like Mario who can't float without specific powerups, and that the real game stuff came from using powers and fighting enemies, so just expanding it into power-based puzzle platforming/navigation is a good pivot.
