But I’m still sceptic about how this one will turn out. The last ND game that truly stood on its own legs without series familiarity bonuses was TLOU1, and the dev costs for this are probably so insane that even if the game sells well, it probably won’t turn much profit. Doubt that it would be a flop that doesn’t sell at all, but the bar for success is almost certainly so high that it will be impossible to reach.

I can't imagine this game doing well. It looks like a third person CAG which generally don't do the best. Things like Witcher are usually outliers. And this doesn't have even close to the same level of "cool factor" of Witcher, regardless of which side of this gay culture war bullshit you're on, she just doesn't inspire any kind of "cool" or "fuck yeah".
Furthermore, from what little combat we've seen, the enemies seem to be the most boring and uninspired and as inoffensive as possible "robots". The Ciri game though - yeah, I can easily see that doing well. The Witcher is an established franchise people love. And Ciri is incredibly attractive.
