The sword boosts its own damage so it actually hits pretty hard, despite what the DPS number says. And that huge perfect block window is just great. But the best thing is that it's a shop item that seems to respawn at the silver shop. So instead of leveling it at a smith, you can just sell the sword and buy a new one for your current level.
