>>747518163i'm assuming this takes place some time after starcraft 2. what you're talking about was kind of the case near the start of starcraft 1, but even then the core worlds like tarsonis and to a lewere heavily populated and urbanized (fringe worlds like chau sara, mar sara, and maybe antiga were still hillbillies in space though). the UED WAS way more advanced, powerful, and civilized, but even starcraft 1 takes place a few hunrded years after space australia was populated by castoffs and by the end of sc2 korhal and the dominon are established to be reasonably well-off and civilized (look at engine of destruction in wings of liberty for example).

This scenes of a warrior slowly being shaped and refined over months or years is intended to show that they do, infract, receive training and quite a bit of it. The fact that he was easily bodied by a Zerg swarm does not invalidate the training he did receive. The fact that he received really any training at all seems at odds with the first game where Marines were drunk hicks with machine guns and power armor.
