Don't forget to support the devs if you like the game. Don't be a pirate like me.

She did nothing wrong.

The ex-witcher 3 devs really oughta remove the timer in some future patch
Also remove the need to feed on random wildlife to get health, its goofy. In fact remove 80% of the wildlife so you can move through a forest without a repetitive combat encounter.
>>
They call him vamp because he’s bisexual

People kept describing this game as Witcher 3 but worse, and that might be true to some extent, but overall I actually prefer this games combat.

>>747515039
Im poor, sadly.
>>
>>747519975
There's no way this combat is worse than W3 and I love the latter like you wouldn't believe, just not for the combat. It's serviceable though.
>>
>>747520126
>>747519975
Witcher 3 tried to vary to combat while staying in line with lore
There was variety from groups and different monsters requiring tactics like bombs, aoe attacks, ranged attacks.
Here you do basically the same thing from start to finish. The enemies wait their turn, you click parry and directional attack, space bar react to skull icon, repeat.

Fair point. W3 had more variety in that aspect, but Dawnwalker is a vastly shorter game, even more so if you truly seek an ending ASAP. The final boss is always there waiting for you.
I think this is the beginning of a franchise that, at least compared to W3, could be incredibly superior combat-wise, but they have to work exactly on what you said, the enemy variety, different tactics etc. I think it's coming, though.

It's kind of just bad vs less bad. Dawnwalkers is less bad.

Dawnwalkers combat is engaging at the beginning, so it seems better than it is since most people never finish games

The creepy red visions with magic make me scared, is the thing Anca showed me even worse than the vampires? I just wanted to live in a small mountain village and take care of my family.
>>
>>747521162
this must be modded or something, i've beaten w3 on deathmarch like 3 times and the game is easy as shit. if an enemy is that tanky it's the player's fault. upgrade your swords or some shit idk
>>
>>747521452
I think its cool that you have vampire magic, and then you have devil magic which gives you nightmare visions whenever you learn anything new

It depends on how you build your character. It can be broken. But so can be vampirism. And either can suck, if you don't commit, equip to serve your needs and don't roleplay properly.
>>
>>747522560
Its weird, If my video player normalizes the audio, adding gain, it sounds "normal", environment sounds like youd expect in witcher games.

But by default the recording software output is really quiet and none of the wind sfx is audible. It really fucks with the atmosphere not hearing stuff correctly

Just finished the game, it's alright but the story is painfully mid. Everything goes as you suspect it does, and there's even a token black guy and a token "muh church" from a w*man.
Combat was fun, exploration was good, atmosphere too, but after finishing it the story leaves it at alright for me.
>>
>>747522449
Kind of. They're from a dimension that's superposed to our world, behind a veil. It's like a weird spiritual world/hell

I came when they allowed me to betrayed her, and the bitch acted surprised. "B bu but, you fuck me in the ass I thought we had something" You got what you deserved you fucking cunt. No wonder benis was so tired of her.

She is a good vampire girl, would let her suck me dry, certainly hotter than Xanthe.

>>747514961
The combat can be frustrating at first but once you get the hang of it it's actually very fun. Better than witcher 3 combat. Story is great. Loved the Vicho side quest. But $70 is a bit much. 8/10

Very interesting moment. Once you reach a certain infamy level, Brencis will send all sorts of mercenaries after you. I fought an uriashi and some other two dudes once. The uriashi had magic, he could TP and use lightning abilities. I thought they were always going to have some gimmick like that, but I had quite a pleasant surprise when I found this couple (pic related), and some nice piece of story with them.
They are both of noble blood.

>>
>>747514961
Is there a way to make this game not a stuttery mess? And I'm not talking about framerate.

Genuine question.
>>
>>747532303
The man made a deal with Brencis, that by killing Coen, Brencis should help him get rid of a demon possessing his wife, and then give them free passage out of Vale Sangora. Why is the wife possessed?

Well, he was betrothed to another, but jumped shit in the last moment to be with his side-chick, so naturally his now ex-bride sent a fucking curse to hunt her. lol

And now they are both dead.

>>
>>747514961
I hate that the sequel is set in modern day. It's gonna take 5 years to release a higher budget game that will need to have all the assets made from scratch. They should keep the game set in the 1300s and build on what they already have
>>
>>747533093
Thanks, probably just some bullshit I have to figure out. I get overworld stutter a lot, framerates are fine though.
>>
>>747514961
How come more games don't use directional combat
>>
>>747533343
The sequel is not set in modern day, devs have already confirmed the series will span multiple eras and locations, the finale is in modern day which that trailer teased.
>>
>>747533413
>the finale is in modern day which that trailer teased.
So they made a teaser for something that's at least a decade away? At least they're confident.
>>
>>747533330
Saved the big guy for last. He was easier than the wolves.
>>
>>747533484
Yes, they did for some reason. It's also confirmed Coen is the main character throughout the series, won't be changing protagonists.
>>
>>747533537
holeefugg
nice fucking sword

>>747533484
A decade? Try two. I doubt they are planning two or tree games-only. The game was well-received and they could be as big as CDPR one day.
>>
>>747522827
The primary cause is magic/the witchcraft skilltree, Anca talks about having dreams like that too. But the magic is coming from the same source as vampire stuff anyway.
>>
>>747533631
>But the magic is coming from the same source as vampire stuff anyway.
I guess it boils down to Vale Sangora itself. Possibly something about that giant snake.
>>
>>747520763
I think the issue with Witcher 3 is that it's difficult to really capture the "lore accurate" combat while also keeping it accessible and workable for a video game. Like from what I remember of the books, Geralt can carve through groups of armed men like nothing, but the reason he's able to do that is he's just absurdly fast. It's hard to present that in a game without making everybody like move in slow motion or something (which would look awful).
>>
>>747533692
The giant snake in the murals represents tentacle Satan from Anachora, who seems to be the source of all magic, yes.
>>
>>747533627
So the guy wanted to be a vrakhiri. The deal was Coen's head for a capital-T Transformation. Notice the emphasis on the correctness of the procedure. If the tooth isn't precisely lodged in the heart, then the transformation goes horribly wrong, and the person turns into a mindless sort of vampire, kind of a ghoul.
Interestingly, there's another encounter in the game where a lady was simping fucking hard for vampires, trying all sorts of stuff to get their attention. Somehow she got the attention of Bakir, and he visited her and gave her a tooth, telling her to swallow it and become one like him. When you find her she's already turned.
>>
>>747533979
Thanks. Good to know.
>>
Alas, killed all the mercenaries. No fun hunting them down anymore.
>>
>Xanthe's entire questline
Fuck me this game knows how to do the inherent damnation and tragedy of the vampire horror mythos. That was amazingly well done. I feel sorry for people that kill her in the cathedral.

Im not sure what to think of the video game romance where you talk for a character but you dont refer to things you've witnessed ingame, you're mentioning off screen stuff you dont actually know about.
>I like u because you were nice to me when I was a kid
While ingame its been walking in the woods killing zombies and for the player the dialogue should be "seeing you naked would be a good change of pace after all these zombies"

>>747536001
I thought about doing it too since it sounded like a good showdown, but I also didn't know she only showed up the one time so I missed my chance.

Let's say, in theory, i were to sail the high seas for this game. Is now a good time to play or give it a few more months of hotfixes and patches? I'm usually hesitant to play new games precisely because of this issue
>>
>>747536493
Didn't work.
>>
>>747537163
>Is now a good time to play or give it a few more months of hotfixes and patches?
I'm playing the game in the launch build, 1.0.1, and the only annoying bug so far is (or was) one where I couldn't save the game. It happened (I suspect) after I gained infamy too fast. The solution was to go into vampire form, if I wasn't already, and take a bite from an animal. This would trigger the new infamy reached animation and allow me to save the game again. Having said this, I'm already at the final stage of infamy, so it doesn't happen anymore.
As of 1.0.4 this, and many other bugs are now fixed, so enjoy it.
>>
>>747536931
they need to train a model that uses outdoor photo references instead of studio photos, idk
>>
Where'd Coen get that scars from his face?
>>
>>747537163
My go-to strategy is to hold out until development is finished and it works like a charm every time. I was on the fence with this one as probably the only reason why I'd deter from this is if I'm playing the game simultaneously with other people and /v/ threads could be fun whenever some quality eurojank drops. This, however, is a better game than to "waste" like this imho. From what I saw it's absolutely playable despite some potential issues like camera stuttering and game-breaking bugs are not frequent but I can tell RW will polish the game further and deliver new content later on. Unless you're super-hyped I'd revisit the game a year from now. You can barely have anything to lose and lot to get.
>>
>>747536364
Known issue that plagues many modern games. Try maxing out Anisotropic Filtering. Hopefully accompanied by no bullshit like upscaling and alike.
