it got way overrated when it game out. if you have just a little perspective you can see it was a fucked development where they hit the persona clone eject button to keep it profitable. So a lot of negativity about it now is overcorrection for it just being OK.

For me it's few things.
It's incredibly ugly. Most of the game is grey and brown, and not really fun to look at. Also character designs aren't very good, I hate the patterns that many party members have on their clothes.
Dungeons suck. The very first one is fine, but after that they just turn into hallways. And side dungeons are boring and ugly.
Story is too much of a retread of Persona 5, and generally isn't very interesting. Twists are either super predictable, or come completely out of nowhere with no build-up.
I struggle to think of something that I liked about it. I guess the combat system is fine, but losing your turns to random miss isn't fun, or having to restart due to finding out enemy had unexpected weakness, or not being able to deal with boss' gimmick because none of the party members had right class... That wasn't fun.

I have to skip twenty million fucking story segments just to play the fucking game. The story fucking sucks BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH I don't fucking care and anything that has been said could have been done with a fraction of the text and still get the point across. The pacing in these games like Metaphor or Persona is atrocious. It would be one thing if the writing was actually good or engaging, instead it's pure yap fluff.

Go play any other classic JRPG and see how much you get done in the first hour compared to a game like Metaphor/Persona. The amount of locations you go to, the amount of characters, encounters and story you get.

The game is literally unplayable without mods to make the women actually have feminine figures and look desirable. That's it. Stohl is the best team member and he has the hypest intro. There is literally nothing more to this game because PEOPLE LIKE IMAGINING THEMSELVES IN ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS OF WHICH THIS GAME FEATURES 0 outside of flavor text with the island summoner girl.

But yeah that's it. A bunch of unaesthetic woman who are built like pieces of cardboard, zero romance, the main character presents pretty femme because of his build, hairstyle and lack of dialogue choices to really stand out. Also Anxiety is NOT a super power and it's not interesting to pretend it is.

You can stop making threads about this like you don't understand. You can't hook up with nor make the characters hook up. It's a one and done story. Thus it was NEVER going to get the Persona treatment.
