Like steam?

*Mic drop*
>>
I like steam, yeah
>>
stop posting screenshots from other websites because you are afraid of confrontation and don’t want to say something to that person yourself

I've never considered myself reasonable.

I mean, they don't have to argue that. They just have to drop producing physical.
The single best thing Sony could do is properly support their existing physical customers.
They can't, because many physical games are completely unplayable without an internet connection - and much of that is publisher's faults, not necessarily Sony (it is, they should have imposed more strict requirements on physical releases).

But Sony will not be smart (again, they can't. The bed they made is a complete fucking anti-consumer mess) so they will burn bridges, primarily because they can. Consumers are fucking completely retarded
>>
>>747519767
Difference is, on PC you have choices. Want digital games that you don't own? Use steam. Want digital games that you own? Use GOG. Want physical games? Buy physical games, publishers are allowed to sell physical PC games, there's literally nothing stopping them from doing so.
Meanwhile, Sony controls the entire PS5 environment, they have the final say on how you're allowed to play your vidya.
And no, you retarded tendies aren't any better, you faggots are literally getting banned because you bought used games.
>>
>>747519767
IBM created this.
Since 1977, this scheme is a thing, and ALL software is sold under it.
You can "own physical games" due some technicalities, but it's not guaranted.
>>
>>747521313
reality created this
even open source software has its restrictions
no one would make anything if you could just infinitely copy it without legal repercussions
>>
>>747521472
It was IBM, it's a demon, a digital demon.
>>
>>747521820
no, no one would make any software that anyone can just take if they're not compensated for it somehow
with the gpl license you're actively improving the world, with typical proprietary licenses you get money for selling copies
if you could just throw it away you've provided no incentive for anyone to ever make anything without extreme obfuscation
>>
>>747519767
So not like steam in the slightest.

I can still download and play games like prey(2006) on steam even tho that game isn't sold on steam anymore.

Hi, since around 1995 it has literally been impossible to own media in any regard because of a legal game of chicken with a law written so poorly that anyone who has ever used any media, at all, could be argued to have committed a felony with a minimum 4 year prison sentence.
You had roughly up until 2005 before it became technically feasible to act on this law, technically 2001 but nobody really bothered with the internet capabilities of consoles and it was seen as too out of vogue to harass people like this for about 4 years.
The digital vs physical "dispute" is a tool for useful idiots like you to advocate for the loss of your rights because you are too stupid to understand how fucked the specs are for storage mediums these days.
>>
>>747522640
Not reading all that.
>>
>>747522810
tl;dr: "physical" media no existy and the law retardy
>>
>>747519767
When game expensive on steam I go to other platform.
When game expensive on playstation store I go to amazon.
So if playstation like steam, they need to let other platform sell playstation games.
>>
>>747522247
You can’t play The Crew, classic CSGO, Artifact and other Steam games. Enough of the propaganda.

I own everything I can access without the help of any server or internet connection. My ROMs and physical discs and cartridges are mine and I own them as much as anyone can own anything. If you want to gargle cum and say that someone can try to take them from me, that's true of literally anything you own. If you want to say "you don't own anything ever" then that's your shitty baggage.
>>
>>747523252
>live service games
>>
>>747523252
you straight up should never pay money for a live service game.
Are there any offline single player games that Steam has removed from people's libraries?
>>
>>747523252
iirc they re-added classic CSGO
god i hate CS2's matchmaking systems i wish it never happened
>>
>>747523691
I'm not interested in pointless games of equivocation between the legal concept of ownership, the layman's understanding of ownership, and the enforced reality with regards to the concept of ownership.
You know what I meant and kill yourself for intentionally being retarded about it you mongoloid.
>>
>>747523691
you don't own the CD KEY verification servers.
>>
>>747524856
Yes and it's a problem that the key verification is on a server in the first place

PC software used to be able to be installed from a disk, and activated with your cd key, entirely offline. And there's no good reason it can't still be like that
>>
>>747525350
I agree. My personal solution is cracking, which does come with the downside of turning my cd Boxes into trinket and baubles.
>>
>>747519767
You dont own your games bitch.
BECAUSE YOU CANT MODIFY THEM.
>>
>>747524767
I own all of the things I mentioned, and I will own them until someone can take them away from me. Until someone does so, yeah I do know what you mean. You are a dishonest inflammatory faggot who wants to assume that some potential legal loophole is applied case law that is in effect and will be pursued when that's clearly not the fucking case.
So eat shit and die, retard.

>>747524856
Why does that matter if I can own and play these things without the help of anyone else?
>>
>>747525854
>You are a dishonest inflammatory faggot
That would be you.
Still.
>>
>>747525990
"It's literally impossible own any media ever for the past 30 years and you're committing a felony every time you use media at all for a 4 year jail sentence" is a lot more inflammatory than "I own my physical games", dumbass. That you can't see this is evidence of your delusion.
>>
>>747526113
That's not inflammatory at all retard, that's how the law as written works.
>I'm such a super cool badass and um, discs and cracks mean I super own my shit so take that cum slurper
Is being inflammatory.
And considering you KNOW the difference and are equivocating you can't hide behind pretending to be retarded.
>>
>>747526293
>That's not inflammatory at all retard, that's how the law as written works.
Could you show me people getting 4-year jail sentence felonies just for "ever using any media" like you're saying the law is written? Or are you talking out of your fucking ass and just assuming it would happen because you want to sound smart in discussions about game ownership?
>>

>>747526463
>Hey what if I equivocate between the law in practice and law as written huh? Huh!? Bet you feel stupid now!
>>
>>747526764
Anon you specifically said that you can't own media because of this law, so this is pretty important to know if it's been put into practice because that's the crux of your reasoning. Now it sounds like you're saying that it's never actually been put into practice once ever.
>>
>>747527446
Are you genuinely so fucking retarded you think you can just reiterate the fact you're equivocating which itself is an admission that I'm right, to someone who is aware of what you are currently doing?
>>
>>747527667
So why even mention it like it's relevant to your point to begin with if it's never been actually put into practice or action? Why say it means fucking anything when it's on its face ridiculous and nobody has ever tried to make it happen? Is it because if not for this hypothetical, you would have no basis whatsoever to say that people don't own any media for 30 years?
>>
>>747527667
https://forestgrove.pgusd.org/documents/Computer-Lab/Strange-State-Laws.pdf
These might also be relevant to your interests by the way, you seem like the kind of person to unironically argue that everyone in Acworth, Georgia MUST own a rake or they'll be punished, then bitch and moan when people ask if it's ever actually been done, since, you know, that's extremely relevant to the issue of laws and practice.
>>
>>747527802
>>747528509
>AIIIEEEE LET ME EQUIVOCATE
fuck off
>>
>>747519767
The EULAs of Steam games and PlayStation games have been the same for years. The fine print says you don't own the product and you're being a license.

I'm sure someone has mentioned that to you before but the cope is "but I have a piece of plastic".
