>sudden urge to play an MMO
>look it up and hear great things about Guild Wars 2
>find out it needs 70-80GB on the SSD, and it's always good to leave some extra free space just in case
>mfw my SSD is only 111GB and Windows already takes up like 30GB
>mfw even if I wiped my PC and deleted everything, it still wouldn't be enough
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

i have the same brain damage as you, and when the mmo itch rears its ugly head i just play dragon age inquisition for an hour or two. without any jest that game could have been an mmo, from the quest to the dialogues to the map design. it lands dick first in the mmo feeling, the only thing that is missing is the brain dead pub chats

Should've bought a 2 TB SSD while you had the chance, bro. Most games these days take up 50-100 GBs.

I haven't played much OSRS, but I find it fascinating how a game with such ugly graphics is so popular in first-world countries like the US. These are places where people have access to high-end PCs and AAA games, yet, for some reason, they don't care for Tibia, the greatest MMO of all time (seriously). That aside, OSRS is an interesting game; I remember a video by a YouTuber who came up with a really great classification for it:

"Right at the beginning, the creator introduces his main thesis: he states that classifying RuneScape as an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) does the game a disservice, as it is fundamentally different from the gameplay loops of classic MMOs like World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy 14.

Instead, he coins the acronym MSOI-RPG, which stands for "Massively Single-Player Online Idle RPG".

He justifies each part of this new classification:

Massively and Online: The world supports thousands of players, which is vital for the economy and the sense of a living world.

Single-Player: He argues that the vast majority of the early and mid-game content (the first thousands of hours) is designed to be completed entirely alone, without the need for groups (unlike the "tank, healer, DPS" dynamic of other MMOs).

Idle: This is the point he considers most crucial. Many in-game activities (fishing, woodcutting, etc.) feature what he calls "attention calibration". You can leave your character performing actions with minimal focus while you do other things (such as working, watching videos, or listening to an audiobook), making the game akin to titles like Cookie Clicker."

How did the French manage to make the best MMORPG of 2026?
>>
>my ssd is 111gb
Did you travel in time? My Samsung 830 ssd in 2012 was 120gb, nowadays 2TB nve drives are the standard

No, I wanted you to explain why you consider MMOs a bad genre. What's your favorite genre? Sorry if it's a lot of questions. I'm trying to find new games to explore.
>>
>>747525297
I'm Latino (poor). We share the same sun and sky, but live in entirely different worlds. Some have so much, while others have so little.
>>
>>747525312
I didn't say it's a bad genre
I just said every MMO is bad because devs just want to rush a product and squeeze every dollar from its consumers
if you're really interested just play them and find by yourself
don't let /v/ dictate your tastes

Im latino too but I've always been employed since around 2002
>>
>>747526135
How do you find time to play games while being employed?
