I wanna play the DX version but i remember the first time i played it, the base difficulty felt a bit too easy.What is the optimal difficulty such that it doesnt devolve into one shot item spam and i can actually explore character builds and see the uniqueness of them?
If the game has 5 difficulties maybe the second most hardest difficulty would be the best choice, but I've never played the game, so I don't know.

Really the difficulty setting just changes how hard you have to try on the crafting more than anything else.

I know in that in 3 your characters don't matter because you can one shot most fights, even bosses, with your starting item use and even if it lives it won't survive a second. And 2 has a bugged bomb that does way more damage than it's supposed to (no idea if they fixed it in the remake). But I think ryza 1 at least makes you care a bit more about your character since it takes longer to get the OP bombs and I kind of remember the game making it harder to use items at the start of combat.
