From an early review copy:
>around 50ish hours to beat
>CIA guy from Dark Knight Rises is the main villain. His character was introduced in the first game's DLC recordings - Dr Ash but goes under moniker Chester Bless. He is his own father because he discovered time travel or something.
>also the main protagonist and Jesse are not really siblings but alternate versions of each other. I didn't really fully get it, maybe i should have read the first game's lore more closely
>the combat is pretty good, bit like dumbed down DmC but still fun. Not a huge fan of the bigger open world, prefered the indoor metroidvania of the first game
>i'd give it an 8/10
>>
I played Alan Wake but not the sequel or Control, how good are they? Halloween is coming around and I usually replay Alan Wake around that time every few years. Barry best bro btw.

That's bullshit but i believe it.

>around 50ish hours to beat
Is this gonna be a FF16 situation where there's a fun 10 hour action game somewhere in there but its padded out to fuck with the most boring shit. There's no good action game that's 50 hours long for a single playthrough
>>
>>747526725
I liked Control but thought AW2 was a boring slog.
>>

who's the big guy now
>>
>>747526865
Well thats disappointing. How is the combat and story compared to the first game? I really liked the plot and the flashlight mechanics, even if it was rather simplistic.
>>
>>747526725
I liked Control, only ever played AW1 and found it dull after a few hours and a slog to complete
Control was fun to play to the end
>>
>>747526461
Control deserved so much more hate than Alan wake 2. One of the most ugliest MCs I’ve ever seen and it was very deliberate. They made her face look like a foot AND gave her zero ass.
>>
>>747526985
It's basically RE2 Remake but not as good
>>
>>747527152
I fucking love redheads in that outfit but she somehow did nothing for me.
>>
>>747526860
FF16 is a game with some of the highest highs, and the lowest lows. The lows being 80% of that fuckin' game.
>>
>>747526461
So quantum break is canonized?
>>
>>747527170
So a survival shooter with crafting? That sounds very different from the first game lol.
>>
>>747526860
Probably more like 50 hours to platinum, from what i've seen the zones each have levels you increase by completing activities there instead of your character leveling up
>>747527472
In all but name, if you play Alan Wake 2 and its DLC you'll understand what i mean. It has QB's protagonist and antagonist with a very similar story. Actually looking back, it probably hinted at this game.
>>
>>747527773
Yeah, there's still the flashlight mechanic but it feels and controls almost exactly like RE2
>>
>>747526860
Wukong was 50 hours and pure kino for the entire duration. But yeah XVI was pretty disappointing.
>>
>>747526461
>50ish hours
that's too long
>>
>>747526461

Dr. Casper, I'm FBC
>>
>>747526461
>CIA guy from Dark Knight Rises is the main villain
idk if I hope this is true or not. I could see the posts about that being funny or getting played out after an hour.
>>
I wish they didn’t delay the physical until mid october
>>
>>747526725
I loved AW1 but I fucking hated Control. If you upgrade the telekinesis attack early you'll do nothing but spam that repeatedly the entire runtime, and it felt like a run of the mill open world game but in grey hallways instead. I also really hate that it completely demystifies Alan Wake by reducing it down to "it was an SCP typewrite the whole time" but I'll give Remedy a bit of credit and say that maybe the DLC I couldn't be assed to finish and AW2 extrapolate on it and I just haven't seen it.
>>
>>747526725
control is pretty okay but doesn't really live up to its premise. alan wake 2 was way too bland for how far it is up its own ass
>>
So it's linked to Quantum Break?
>>
>>747526725
Control is fun, Anal Wake 2 is shit.
>>
>>747526461
>also the main protagonist and Jesse are not really siblings but alternate versions of each other.
So is it OK if they have sex?
>>
Control was really fucking dull at least AW2 was intriguing for like first 3 hours or so.
>>
>>747526461
>50ish hours
I don't want a melee action game to be that long, I highly doubt they did enough to ensure good level and enemy variety
>>
>50ish hours to beat
WHY?
FOR
WHAT
PURPOSE
?
>>
>>747526461
Bless is all over Control if you read the documents. It's not just the DLC.
Him being the main villain doesn't surprise me.
>>
>>747530392
With side quests I'm betting
>>
>>747528173
lmao
>>
>>747527954
Chinkcels are really delusional
>>
I'm hyped the combat has been excellent from what they've shown
>>
>>747530548
Didn't know he was originally the doctor from the foundation cave recordings
>>
>>747526889
Will he be the same guy? Quantum Break's story was so forgettable that I can't remember what happened to CIA at the end.
>>
As in, the main villain is a new character played by Aidan Gillen, or the main villain is Paul Serene??
>>
>>747532225
I've seen theories before that Aidan Gillen would play Chester Bless because of his quantum break name being Paul Serene
Serene = Bless (?) kinda like Martin Hatch = Warlin Door
just legally distinct characters
>>
>>747532656
should I play quantum break?
>>
>>747530392
Open world, so padded to shit with pointless distractions
>>
>>747531530
Time for your coffee break, glowie
>>
>>747532753
If you liked control then yeah it's the proto control. Okay third person shooting with superpowers, cool time travel plot with great presentation but mostly generic fights. Not too long either it takes like 10 hours to beat casually.
The big turn off for everyone is that half the game is a literal TV show but you might like it idk.
>>
>>747532775
coming from Onimusha this feels like suffering m8

She has an ass outfit.
>>
Wasn't there a log about the Ordinary AWE where it's mentioned that the residents of that town don't even remember Jesse having a brother or am I misremembering
>>
>>747532162
Jack killed him and when they were fixing time, he revived, but the Countermeasure fixed spacetime, making him disappear before he could destroy it. He probably became a Shifter. Maybe by now he's become a Stable Shifter in the multiverse.
>>
Remedy haven't released a single good game since Alan Wake 1.
>>
>>747526461
Does Dylan eventually become the FBC director like he's supposed to?
>>
>>747526461
Does he also have telekinesis?

10 hours of dr darling kino cutscenes
10 hours of antti janitor side quests
10 hours poets of the fall musical set piece

I don't understand why they don't ask Microsoft for the rights back to QB? Microsoft is probably one of the few big publishers that would be willing to make such a deal. To be honest they'd probably be happy to be rid of it since it's a dead IP in any other context.
>>
>>747528696
The AWE is the lake not a typewriter.
>>
>>747526461
Kino
>>
>>747535350
It's one of the powers you get from beating a boss. They all have one or more power to choose from but you can only pick 1 so i think it's an Infamous 2 situation where you need to do a NG+ to unlock all abilities
>>
>>747528696
>If you upgrade the telekinesis attack early you'll do nothing but spam that repeatedly the entire runtime,
For me it was stacking shit to get to the top of the NSC earlier than intended to get the Eternal Fire mod for the pistol and just spamming that through the entire game
>>
>>747536729
It that's the case then it's absolutely retarded. Mandatory NG+ to unlock everything in a game that's already 50 hours long is ridiculous. Unless this game's enemy variety puts every other CAG to shame even 50 hours is way, way too long.
>>
>>747526461
bane?
>>
>>747536893
I like it. Forcing the player to make choices and live with it is way too underutilized in modern gaming.
>>
>>747536893
There's just no way the story is longer than 15 hours.
>>
How’s the enemy variety? Is it just the mold and hiss?

This game is going to be kino i can already tell, Control was fun but was limited for being ranged combat it was a smart move to make it melee and outside schizo kaleidoscope kino
>>
>>747526461
I couldn't get passed the man faced dyke in Control, hopefully I enjoy this game.
>>
>>747526461
Is this shit even gonna be worth it? I'm mostly done with Remedy after Alan Wake 2. Sam Lake wants to be Kojima so badly and he winds up being even more obnoxious. The quirky, wink at the audience writing, the reddit pandering live action cutscenes, the forced walking sections, it's unbearable.

It's like Remedy wishes they were making Netflix series while Kojima wishes he was making groundbreaking, trippy epics like 2001. Neither are capable of either, so the medium of video games is forced to endure them.
>>
>>747530392
complaining about content?
>>
>>747538671
Yes, I fucking hate padding and bloat on my vidya you stupid fuck.
>>
>>747538847
50 hours isn't even bloat, you dirty normie
>>
>>747538897
Action game, normalfag
>>
why are Remedy games so self serious now? Max Payne was funny
>>
>>747538847
you cant tell if a game has bloat until you play it playtime hours means nothing it can be straight story for 50 hours
>>
>>747539001
there's plenty of comedy in control
>>
>>747535413
well i cant complain about that
>>
>>747539001
self serious and confusing the guy who beat the game doesn't even know about what's the plot is about
it was like this in control and aw2 and i hated it
>>
>>747526461
What's the writing and voice acting like? From their preview videos it felt very "Focus, M" AAA banter slop.
>>
>>747538446
I despised Alan Wake 2 as well but this is being directed by the same guy who directed Control, so I'll try it for myself.
>>
>>747541982
Control sucked
i already got this game via nvidia promotion for like $25 but I have low expectaions
>>
Should I play the Alan Wake duology before Resonant

I already own them, just haven't gotten around to it
