Which Nintendo franchise will get the open world treatment next?
Man I hope they make a pikmin 5. 3 and 4 were great
>>747530748Open-world Animal Crossing could be kino>get your own city block, develop it however>open up businesses for bells (airport, fashion, farming, etc.)>take a car and drive to see your friends>you and your friends can ask Resetti to move your block within reach of them>with permission you can clean up your friends' blocksThe end result would actually just be a shitshow, but it would be a hilarious shitshow
I thought Forgotten Land was going to be open world.
>>747530748Hopefully it's Endless Ocean.
Pikmin 4 doesn't count, they just essentially scaled the maps x2 in blender so it still feels empty and boring
>>747530748Gen 5 remakes will be open world
>>747530748I am genuinely shocked that there has yet to be an open world Metroid. Everyone is always memeing about "muh non-linearity" and how Super is the greatest game evar because you can cheat level geometry to skip the entire game. Go ahead, keep screeching, morons. Eventually Nintendo will give you exactly what you want.
>>747530748Why am I supposed to hate open world again? A decade ago /v/ hated the handholding and hyper linear game design
>>747532547That wolverine slop will soon come out and that's all corridors so they still hate those
Splatoon probablyEverything is possible after open world mario kart
>>747530748MARIO!Haha!
open-world pikminHave movable bases like in 4, and choose a landing site at the beginning of every day, like usual. landing sites are far enough apart that they might as well be separate levels, trying to spread too far will only end in disaster.however, you can stay out at night, which would give you enough time to make it to another "level". the hard time limit becomes a soft time limit. however, nighttime is extremely dangerous. much more dangerous than night mode in 4. you have to decide whether to take the risk, or play it safe.
>>747533438Metroid doesn't count. It's a gritty sci-fi series and a "realistic" artstyle isn't out of place.
