Problem is 4 and 5 do this lovely little thing where they completely drop main party characters from story relevance the moment their arcs are completed. Honestly the only girl in 4 who stays relevant outside of social links is Rise, but that's only because she's a thirsty bitch in heat no matter whether you accept her advances or not. And I say 4 and 5, but 3 is kind of like that with relationships as well, the only SEES girl that feels somewhat acknowledged by the story throughout the whole game is Yukari, but that kind of makes sense considering she was originally the sole romance option and they spent a bunch of time deliberating on her character and fleshing her out. And don't even get me started on 5, it's even worse than 4. Futaba is the only one I can say has staying power, and that's mostly because she's connected to Sojiro. I really wish they'd consider at least limiting the romance options in future games so they can spend time fleshing them out and incorporating the romance into the main story. But still, in Yukiko's case, it's not just her romance, she just stops being interesting as a whole after Kanji's arc. She was this weird psychopath goober who's still strangely very attractive, then almost all of that gets thrown out the window in favor of a cooking joke the game just never lets go of.

Personally I would like them to take the Sonic movie approach, but up to this day I think the whole thing was a psyop to generate buzz so I don't think it will happen in persona's case.Also this is a Japanese game and it is more likely for hell to freeze over than a Japanese high tier exec to admit he was wrong in any capacity.
