>um mayhaps I shall abandon mine physical book collection for a kindle
snoys and steamies truly think like this, horrifying

>steamies
are broadly against playstation's move to digital? the only reason it got little pushback on PC is because how bad DRM was there
>>
Video games are more disposable than books. Most video games you just play once and move on and probably never think about the game ever again.

I own too many lovely Joyce, Tolkien and Eliot editions to ever throw them away. I would also never wish to part with my physical copies of Eternal Darkness, Fatal Frame and Bloodborne.

What books are /v/ reading right now?
>>

F&F's The Poems of Seamus Heaney and Metroid Prime 1–3: A Visual Retrospective

>Don't have to burn space to store hundreds of books
I have unironcially been pirating/buying books for Kindle for fucking years for that exact reason. Between me and my wife we have about 6 bookshelves full of fucking books and I would get rid of these too if I didn't already make the shelves for them
>>
>>747535089
When you say Kindle, do you mean Amazon's book service or the physical device? Because if you never connect the latter to the internet, and just transfer DRM-free books to it via USB (Either pirated or legit purchases from select authors who offer this), then yeah, it's 100% worth it to get rid of a physical book collection

Discs and carts are becoming digital delivery mechanics now, OP

I know this is just a bait thread but this still bears repeating, you will not escape

Most books are the same.
>but the classics...
...are classics for a reason. Most books are disposable entertainment or info dumbs.

And yes, I get some mean pussy.

When books became accessible to the masses, you even had geezers complaining that youngsters spent too much of their free time reading
>>
>>747538508
These days I'd rather read a 6/10 book than a 9/10 game
>>
>>747535089

On the Incarnation by Saint Athanasius.
honestly a page turner, but boy does he like his parenthetical expressions (i think that's the term for it). he has a million asides in every sentence.
>>
>>747539492
nope
are you saying reading nothing instead would be the white thing to do?
>>
I do 90% of my reading online. I only get a physical copy if it's a really pretty hardcover I'll enjoy seeing on my shelf.

Just finished the epic of Gilgamesh and pic related. Might read some Greek plays next because Greece is my current area of study, unsure at the moment.

>go to library sale
>buy stacks of books by volume for pennies
libraries are constantly getting rid of their old shit, too, and its often even decent stuff, its how cruddy old corner book stores fill up their stock.
