100%ing Sunshine is a fucking nightmare.
>>
sunshine exposes that gamers are massive retards on par with casuals

It is the reason every Mario game since has tried to be very forgiving. Now difficulty is in optional bonus content and playing the game differently (like trying to speed through levels or sequence break). After Sunshine, Nintendo realized that they had to be very careful about difficulty or they'd risk making a nightmare of a game.
>>
why the fuck does everyone exaggerate how "difficult" sunshine is
it isn't hard, it's tedious
>sand bird is waiting
>watermelon has to be pushed or launched in just the right spot
>pachinko machine physics like to send you to the same spot
>the yoshi shit to get to the lily pad
>blue coins
everything just wastes time. is it just people being stupidly impatient and trying to speed shit up by just jumping at shit

Sunshine doesn't even have that many hard parts. The retarded blue coins take up a massive chunk of Shines.

The biggest nightmare was having a blue coin disappear permanently from Noki Bay. I imitated video guides for hours before just cheating it in. Maybe it was the reduced clock speed from having to play on a phone, but that sounds like bullshit, yeah? Downclocking DID affect FLUDD.

It has nothing to do with difficulty and everything to do with the reward for all of that work being an absolute nothingburger.

My go-to example of artificial difficulty are the blue coins in Sunshine. None are particularly challenging, it's just tedious tk narrow down which coins you're missing in a given stage and figuring out which mission they're locked to. It doesn't help that the reward is lackluster; some people say it's about the journey not the destination, but neither are particularly great when aiming for 100%.

I even defend this game to a certain extent. It's not worth the 100% unless you're on emu with QoL stuff specifically for those fuckass coins. Use a guide if you insist on vanilla

SUPER SHAME

Sunshine is an amazingly fun game when you're simply going for the ending. It's one of the most tedious slogs imaginable if you go for 100%.

Sunshine is great. Playing through Mario 64 right now for 120 stars and Mario controls like fucking dogshit. The game isn't hard though, only have 4 stars left.
