I used to scam people in runescape when I was in middle school. I made mountains of gold that way and I don't think I ever even hit level 40 on my main because I just scammed people all day. I would make new accounts for it and then immediately drop-trade all my ill-gotten shit to my main account. Once they released the stronghold of security and some accompanying updates, nearly all my old tricks didn't work at all.Greatest hits:>Jagex blocks your pass! Mine is ******** (then watch chat for anyone saying a random word or complaining that it didn't work to go change their password and then log in as them later)>stand next to fence. Wait for someone to walk by. Tell them they're the 10,000th player to walk by that day and won a million gold and you just need to confirm their identity to claim it. Ask a few random questions and then ask for their password. Nearly always worked.>close door on people getting Wine of Zamorak

>>747538805I'm glad I was cautious. When I first heard this, I went to the top of lumbridge castle and made sure nobody was there before I tried it.Honestly, I don't even know why I would have cared about that even if it were true. Curiosity is just one hell of a drug.

>>747538803There's a place north of Falador with an item called Wine of Zamorak in a small building. If you grab it, the monks attack you and are a pretty serious threat to low/mid level free players, but you can just run out quickly. The scam is to get someone to grab the wine and then you would repeatedly close the door on them so they can't get out. The smart players would fight the monks and maybe win, but the idiots would try to open the door until they got low enough that they didn't have a chance to win and would just panic-type angrily at the scammer. When they die, you walk in and grab whatever they dropped. This one wasn't against any rules, so you couldn't really get banned for it. However, they eventually patched it so you can't close the door on people any more.
>>747539112lol I always did the same. Was always happy to help out a fellow scammer.
>>747539351lol Im maxed in runescape and never tried doing wine of zammy that way i'd only heard about it kek
>>747538805I lost my first black plate to a guy who claimed to be "trimming armor" for free. Classic scam. It worked super well because there were tons of things like that in MMOs where people would just do stuff like that for crafting XP, so it made sense if you had no idea that players can't even trim armor. I felt awful when he logged out and I think I even cried.
