Why do so many people swear by CRTs for gaming but never bring up plasma TVs?
they were a mistake
>>747539250That's a projection TV nigga
praising crt is like saying the switch version of every game is the best looking one.
>>747539250input lag
>>747539250>plasma>shows off DLP rear projection screen
>>747539250Plasma's drawback is it has to be pitch black or you get ungodly glare. I had a 720p plasma I loved but it was always a pain in the ass to play on it. ended up sitting like 6 ft from the screen playing dark souls.
I love plasma and you should shut the FUCK up about it. Look outside OP. That's me.
>>747539515Not really, also you can just put some coating on your windows and it'll never be an issue. t. someone that had 2 high end pioneer plasmas growing up
At least the fucking retards praising CRT are right that their favorite display has an unique list of pros and cons. Even thought the cons massively outweigh the prosPlasma is just mogged by OLED across the board.
>>747539250Plasma uses a fixed pixel grid. That's fine with newer games that use anti aliasing and high resolution graphics.CRT's display the image in a purely analog way. They trace an electron beam across the screen to illuminate phosphors arranged a certain way on the surface of the screen. There are no fixed pixels. It means the image isn't as sharp, but the image is displayed in a unique way that makes objects appear more natural without the jarring pixelation and jaggies you get on HDTV's.It just looks way better with games that were designed with CRT in mind.
>>747542076>Plasma uses a fixed pixel grid.not true
>>747539250If I remember right, plasma (which is not pictured) had a lot of issues with burn-in.
>>747543616nah i have a plasma, it's entirely reversiblemost plasma screens have a scrubber that removes burn-in
>>747539250That's a rear projection tho
>>747542076This looks like shit because you blew it up and shrunk or stretched one of themIn reality, the left looks like blurry shitYou should be using an OLED instead, but you are poor, and a stupid zoomer
rear projection tvs were an actual scam
>>747544861He's right, though. As much as I hate CRTroons, 2D games were designed on CRTs and meant to display on them. The left pic he posted is cleaner and doesn't have as many blocky edges. That said, I can deal with the blocky edges if it means playing at 4k on a giant screen.
>>747539250I recommend plasmas over OLED constantly. They have zero motion blur.>>747539375No more than any other modern flat screen.>>747539515>Plasma's drawback is it has to be pitch black or you get ungodly glareEr... no. That makes no sense. Close your blinds/curtains.>>747541531Plasma has no motion blur making it instantly superior for gaming than OLED.>>747542076>Plasma uses a fixed pixel grid.Every display type does, except for CRT.>>747543616Maybe first generation ones about 30 years ago.I've still got my panasonic from the 2010's and it's perfect. I use it daily.
>>747539250Watching Mr. Ballen on my panny plasma right now. The image on it is getting kind of funky. Usually looks fine, but if something is bright white on the screen there is visible noise. It's ancient and has a shitload of hours on it though, so no complaints.
