>mfw just discovered moddingThis is the best thing ever and I don't know how anyone can go back to consoles.
>>747546354Welcome home bro. What did you start with?
>>747546354I discovered modding when I was like 15, I'm 33 now, curious at your age
>>747546446Thanks bro. Stardew Valley. I found out that so many games in my backlog can be completed with a movement speed increase. I see a thread of nude stellar blade, I want to do that too. I could beat so many games that I own if I just tweaked it a bit.
my first mod was the giga galleon in morrowind where you had to get the ship from a dancing WHORE at the suran house of earthly delights... i would have been about 11 or 12 on the family dell optiplex
>>747546354The only game I have ever modded is Freedom Force, modding is always just cringe.
>>747546354I find it so crazy when people sperg about modding. It's so fucking cool, I mod games more than I play them sometimes. I LOVE browsing through hundreds of pages seeing what my bros make for games, and then install all the good shit and make the game way better only to never play it. But if I do play it oh boy, it's fun.
You can play some mods on consoles. But it's very selective since programming is scary evil magic.
There is not a single content mod that is actually good. Plenty of QoL mods worth your time, but every content mod SUCKS.
>>747546354what are you like 12 years old?
>>747546508Based lad
>>747546354And with LLMs being so robust now, you can make any mod you want as well. No longer limited to certain faggot modders.
>>747546872that is definitely false but I can't prove it because I don't really care about them enough to commit them to memory
>>747546354Modding was the reason I went from console gaming to PC. It breathes so much new life to games I had played so much in the past, almost turning them into new experiences.
>>747546872>super mario eclipse has entered the chat
>>747546872Pikmin Squared
>>747546872This is bait for people to post good sp content mods. No, I will not indulge you.
>>747547010You should try just changing the colors of the character's clothes first, poojeet.
>>747547207>he figured out my bait -> spoonfeeding strat
my first discovery of modding was adding cars and maps to Midtown Madness 2. I went nuts downloading everything I could find for it and absolutely gave the family computer a virus multiple times.
>>747547271That wasn't an invitation for you to reply.
>>747546869>But it's very selective since programming is scary evil magic. You can blame Snoy for that. Xbone still had its resident hall monitors patrolling for ass and tiddie mods like a bunch of good goys. The former straight up restricts any form of copyright or user made content that can't be drawn from the files themselves. With regards to Skyrim and Fallout BSA files. Creation Club hinged its entire existence on this bullshit. As a way to get custom content in while a charging a fee for the trouble.Insurgency Sandstorm and DayZ dabbled a little bit too but I never mained them as much. Still a night and day difference between console modding and PC. I heard Butterlord was meant to get them at some point but who knows what those roaches are upto these days. The option is nice but woefully underprepared for what you can actually do with the games themselves. 2GBs worth of space is sweet fuckall when the average waifu build list uses that on ass meshes and textures alone. Then you have problems with QA since you can't really do much with load orders or user made clean up patches for shit that the devs themselves never bothered to remedy.
>>747546354CorrectConsoles are baby toys
>>747547306>Midtown Madness 2Based boomer
The first game I modded was like quake or something, with a dbz mod. It was at some PC gamer arcade and unless it just came to me from the ether, the worker must have told me how to pirate the game and find the mod because I went home and did it. it was so fucking cool.Looking it up, it's still cool as fuck. Enjoy this ear rape :DDDhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CTgK0gcWZMthe max payne kung fu mods were cool too, and warcraft3,sc1 custom modes. been hooked on modding since
>>747547557What the fuck. I had no idea Earth's Special Forces was based off a Quake mod. Holy moly.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynV-IStqOIE
