I like the concept of helldivers but I hate how buggy it is, don't like the vehicles or most weapons and I'm kind of bored with what's there. What's an alternative? Is Mycopunk any good? Jump Space? Far Far West? Anything else? Something that isn't early access?
No there isn't really a game like it.Which is sad because Helldivers 2 is one of the most fun games that actively resists being enjoyed.
>>747548887me in middlenever played helldivers or games you mentioned so can't say anything about that
Helldivers is kinda one of the biggest wastes of potential in gaming. It’s really good in some ways but consistently disappointing in others, and it’s not like they don’t have the money to fix it. And it can’t be blamed on Sonys greed either because the studio leadership repeatedly makes asinine decisions then sticks to them. Sadly ive never found anything really like it thought.
>>747549530What are your biggest issues with the game right now? I enjoy it immensely with some exceptions.
>>747549660Aside from bugs and technical issues, my personal biggest issues are all wasted potential and/or poor game direction type things. For example I’m really sick of the intentionally broken hellpod steering & stratagem ball bouncing, and I can think of many ways the devs could’ve already improved the situation (besides never having caused it in the first place) but instead they’re making a “task force” to investigate it…There was also the promise of frequent community interaction from the game director which he then immediately reneged on…I think a lot of armor passives are boring and underwhelming, boosters are unbalanced and poorly implemented…Saying all that specifically because I like the core game so much.
>>747548887Just play the much better game that it copied, EDF. Or if it's the party composition part Aliens Fireteam.
There was something really special about this game in the first few days when everybody was still wearing the default yellow and black, Figuring out how the game worked going through the unlocks. We were all goofballs and when you saw someone over level 10 it was hype. I'm sorry to say if you weren't there that first week you really don't get it and missed out
please respond
>>747549660nta but the core game is unfortunately stale as fuck by now and instead of doing anything to shake up the core systems of the game they are much more content to milk the playerbase with shitty 10-15$ slop bonds that only contain maybe 3 interesting things if you're lucky and to repeatedly rehash things. adding a new support weapon for the 6th time does not shake up the core gameplay, and subfactions are a diceroll of if they're actually any fun to play against their contrived gimmick or not.the procedural terrain generation of outskirts has really gotten stale, nothing but prefabs dumped into a random terrain meshthe city maps are a boring ass grid, again randomly dumped into the terrain. Not even things like roadways connecting separate city areas.the megacities are samey slogs with the added fun of neutering most of your red stratagems or making them take literally 30 seconds to call insure they "overhauled" SEAF troops, yet they still only show up on specific planets the devs decide to put them on. They still shoot each other and lack any group cohesion. They slapped some special animations on them and made some variants and called it a day.t. 1500 hours played
