Anyone play serious roleplay in Project Zomboid or their game of choice? Examples include..
>Join police department, have a separate website that you create an account for, in which you submit sick leave/vacation requests, receive promotions, etc.
>must pay utility bills or they will get shut off
>calling 911 in-game connects you with actual on-duty police/EMS players... some of whom are actual IRL emergency call employees
>own or rent property, almost always needing to contract with a real estate agent player
>property or business dispute? contract with an actual lawyer player, who has to pass an actual in-game bar exam to become a lawyer
>run a business, hire employees, manage storefronts and inventory, use wholesalers, contract actual contracts for goods and services
>advanced medical RP examinations, blood draws/transfusions, etc. (hospitals even have free food to provide for the homeless)
>insane amount of civilian jobs, from garbage collection, bus driving, deliveries, city work, etc.
Thousands of people are involved to make it a real living, breathing world. Anyone else been in a part of a community like this? It really makes the experience way more fun.
>What about the zombi--
No zombies. Just civilian life.

Are enough bones in PZ to pull off this level of autism? Lemmy is getting kneecapped accross the board on his own game. There is that FPS mode in the works too.
>>

>serious roleplay
stopped reading there
>>
>>747549720
Sounds pretty legit desu. People have done more with less back in the good ole days.
>>
>video game about zombies
>let's turn it into sims 2.0 without zombies
Why do people do this? It's like those Arma 3 RP servers. Sure, I'd love to play as a standard civilian doing civilian things in a game with no mechanics for that and said game was made to simulate combined arms war.
Really nigga.
>>
>>747552867
Seeing that DayZ was born out of a government issue training program like ARMA when there is enough autism at play things are bound to happen. Zombies are a surface level filler past a certain point if you don't go down the route of hordes, inter factional warfare and murder hobos via multiplayer to pad out the rest.
>>
>>747549641
Used to play serious Half-Life 2 RP on Gmod back in the day.. good days, but the gamemode's limitations were seriously autistic
>>
>>747549641
this is autistic
>>
>>747553005
The DayZ mod was the fun part of the whole thing. Just having the base game with all its jank, weapons, skins and vehicles but with zombies and pvp was the shit. The standalone game is boring.
Now that I said that I want to rewatch Frankie1080's dayz mod episodes.
>>
>>747549641
Why the fuck would I want to do what I already do every single fucking day????
>calling 911 in-game connects you with actual on-duty police/EMS players... some of whom are actual IRL emergency call employees
This is one of the most German fucking things I've heard all year... God you people must be German or fucking spiritually German or some shit.
If I'm going to put effort into RP I want it to be interesting and different from what I normally do, even if it's something relatively mundane like being a blacksmith or hunter something but atleast it's like in a fantasy world.
>>
>>747552867
Really? In the game, your player wants a slice of pie. Now, he goes to the bakery and spends currency (earned through the player's profession) to buy a slice. But how did that slice come into existence? A farmer grew crops and sold those crops to someone who created the dough, and sold the dough to a baker who made the pie and cut it into slices. Along the way, each step in the chain utilized lawyers (at least the ones with lots of money; informal businesses can still get by with a gentleman's handshake). All of this is portrayed in the serious civilian RP server on PZ.
>b-but I can't spend 12 hours a day on one RP server! how do I run my business when I have to take care of things in my actual life?
You hire employees. Simple.

i wonder if there is a CDDA mod like that
>>
>>747553394
Because it's incredibly fun and immersive?
>>
>>747553071
Pretty much just FiveM with a PZ skin. From what I can infer you could play as a murderhobo or a slacker that just cuts wood, poaches animals to go sell to a middleman for some chump change. Like a slower version of the old SAMP freeplay servers minus the undercutting huehues tanking the internal economy with their mining autism. I'm more curious to see how they are managing the economy to account for people sucking up real estate that usually serves as loot spawning points.
>>
>>747553071
If you think that's autistic you haven't heard of Los Santos RP from SAMP (not fucking GTA 5) which had such a strict system you had to play 1:1 to how reality worked. I will forever miss userone making protests for 1 month because no player wanted to be a lawyer/judge and reside over his case of misusing a helicopter flying too low thus earning him a prison sentence.
>>
>>747553457
CDDA is turn-based my dude
>>
>>747553632
whats so fun about doing the same thing in game that you do in real life
>>
>>747553846
I only ever run freeplay servers in SAMP. They weren't turbo autistic outside of no RDMing but the gangs were hilarious at times with how hard they hammed it up. Had some really nice internet radio stations too for those times where you're running packages between points for easy cash.

The cops and spook agencies were offlimits with how many hours they required you to clock up first before sending in an application.
>>
>>747553159
>not accounting for the taxation system that is applied to every good and service generated in the server alongside brackets based on total wealth
Cash in hand jobs will become it's own shadow economy once the desire for squirrel extra away becomes paramount.
>>
>>747554413
Thank you for bringing up taxes. In-game, every year, you actually need to file taxes, which the local city worker players actually implement and provide. It's really an amazing RP project.

>>747549641

It will be an interesting social experiment providing it doesn't go full nepo and crash everything with no survivors. Autism charged RP mixed with sunken time costs can be a recipe for disaster.

Have to set your trait/perk points to 100 in the sandbox settings, friendo. Unfortunately, the total amount of positive perks equals around 120, so you'll still have to miss out on some positive perks and can't all of them even if you give yourself max perk points.

I just don't get it. OP wants to pretend to do normal things on a bad simulation when he can just do the in normal life (most immersive and realistic simulation). Is OP incapable of normal actions in real life? Is this a thing that becomes fun when your a trillionaire and completely out of touch with most of humanity?

I can tell you that part of the fun in the old Police Quest games was the boring mundane shit it made you do. Log reports, collect evidence correctly, file and tag shit, do interviews. Remember to read the Miranda rights.
Point being you’re not weird to want to play that way it’s been part of gaming a long time. Doing it in Zomboid requires playing it mostly in your own mind though.
>>
>>747549641
Shit idea but you just know it will be saved by edgelord GODS and people who just want to ruint it for the autistic manchildren

>this nicely organized base
wtf every time i try to make a base, there's shit everywhere and containers where i shove random shit into so when i need to find a file or something it takes me literally 30 minutes IRL time to find it
also, when are they going to allow you to paint containers? would make organizing so much easier if you literally could paint a crate pink for food, etc.

I've spend 1 month just gathering storage units to make it look prettier. And I'm still missing lots. I need decorations, lockers, wall mounts, etc.
I just built rows of crates outside to store everything until the interior was ready for a proper organization.
Now I need to build all the containers, tables, etc for the armory upstairs.

I mean i admire the ability to settle in one place but fucking hell that safehouse is so overdone its not even funny.. especially now in 42.20 with the fucking lake next to it.
>>
>>747562321
This is just the beginning. I want to have a safehouse in every city.
>>
>>747562370
Still, a fucking fire house man? Really? At least be original and pick one of the houses ( i like the one on top of the gun store ) or something unusual like Bond office...

What will be your safehouse in Riverside, any plans?

Never been there ever since 42 stable dropped. I'll just go through every building and probably pirck a small cozy one.
41 had so many cool map expansion that gave me a tiny apartment complex and I holed up one room and called it a base.

GTA V Online has this. The players are the police officers, and they have to respond to crimes. If you get arrested, you have a player become your legal defender, as well as the judge. The same for ambulances, etc.

I wonder if it's going to carry over into GTA VI
>>
you can kinda do this with gta5 and mods
>buy property
>save avatar
>load up something like lspdfr (police, fire, rescue) and get to pull people over for not using a turn signal or fight the taliban
>pair with open interiors and mods that let you buy property offline

i havent touched it in years but it was really fun paired with mods that make the driving better. back then there was even mods for needs like eating/drinking, so there must be some now too. i think that meets all the criteria

Except they don't have any standards. What the fuck am I looking at? What is that haircut, what is that makeup? What is that patch?
What kind of clown-ass police department is that. I know the guys all have hobo bears, faces full of tattoos and piercings. Yeah, that's how a cop would look like.
>>
Talking of bases, there is some Bandit add-on that makes them build their own bases, which you can later attack and kick them out of.
Anyone tried that out yet?
I am sort of weary about mod conflicts when too many cooks are trying to make changes to the maps at once.
