In 2008 they released a wow expansion that deleted and replaced the old game world. People have been asking for servers of the old game world since that happened. Private servers sprang up to fill that void. In 2019 Blizzard released servers of the old game world and called it classic. The other version of the game kept running. Since then people have also been asking for extra content for the old game world, but not like the content from the other version of the game. Private servers sprang up to fill that void. Blizzard has now announced Forever which is classic but with extra content.

However, said content appears to be like the content from the other version of the game.

Wow evolved a lot in 20 years and it's a comopletely different game from what it used to be, raping all the lore and becoming more like an action game, so many demanded the original versions of it when it was a mmo. Then these people got bored of the original version and demanded for it to be expanded but without going full retard like the first time.
