It's a darker take on Blind the Thief from ALTTP (Beta OOT's plot was going to be a lot more like an Alttp retelling).He's the spirit of a thief who as punishment was publicly punished by reverse hanging, and had his hands decapitated. Probably executed too, and they did the hand thing more as a public warning to not fucking steal.

>>747558178Not a lot of tangible lore in OoT, but to its credit the Well detailed how even the Hyrule Kingdom itself had an execution chamber for war prisoners and criminals, and the boss in the shadow temple -- and bear in mind Temples with monsters and evil inside them in OoT represents "nature being disturbed, pertubing the wrath of the worshipped gods" -- *GAAASP!!* ...has its hands literally cut off.I would surmise this is an evil spirit manifested from the temple representing the vengeance of all the unjustly executed people who suffered under Hyrule's evil, and all Ganondorf did was provoke the flame of the spirit residing in the temple, and let it loose in Kakariko and let it take over the Shadow Temple to give Kakariko townfolk something to be afraid of.

You have to entertain Jabu Jabu by the music pedestal to get it to open its mouth, and that "bay" is also like a shrine to worship it. The temples are pure worship, and parts of them almost look like concert halls. The big drum is probably the irony of all the disturbed and mad dead people who were killed by Hyrule Kingdom who are making Hyrule and its beloved gods hear the sound of their own worship. At least, I'd write something like this if I took over a rewrite of OoT.
