>>747559097The games struggle because Age of Sigmar's disastrous launch that coincided with Vermintide taking off and bringing Warhammer Fantasy to the attention of the vidya audience just as it got killed and replaced with the worst thing ever made for an extremely poisonous first impression that it's never been able to shake. The tabletop is unironically lightyears ahead of where it started (still not as good as WHFB IMO but it's not bad), but the wider audience who might be interested in playing a Warhammer video game but have zero exposure to the tabletop still think of the abysmal 2015 version of the game and setting whenever it pops up.
