Reminder to play Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on the Sony PlayStation II
>>747561376i agree its the best hp game, but i prefer the gamecube/dolphin version (also dolphin is just the best emulator)
Imma have to do that
>>747561429What's the difference between them?
I had it on ps1. Great memories with that game
>>747561506The PS1 version and PS2 version are completely different games, both are still great though
>>747561506It's probably just nostalgia talking, but in general I think these early Harry Potter games were fantastic. My sister and I had Prisoner of Azkaban on the family computer and we'd take turns just running around the castle and doing stuff like the Bean Bonus Room.
>mfw Hogwarts Legacy 2 will be another shit tier HP game instead comfy Hogwarts School.
>>747561429chamber of secrets has way too many horrible stealth segments to be the best hp game
>>747561732https://store.steampowered.com/app/4553330/Hemlotrion_Broken_Mirror/
>>747561732It's frustrating because Hogwarts Legacy *could* have been such an incredible game. It's like they got 70% of the way there, then said "well our work is done, let's add a generic ubisoft open world map with some procedurally generated points of interest and call it a day".
>>747561930They made Assassins Creed: Hogwarts rather than just mixing Bully with the PS2 games.
>>747561376I've only played Order of the Phoenix
>>747561376I had the PC version. From what I remember, you couldn't fly the flying car and thr only way Griffindor lost points is if you disturbed Miss McGonagall's other class.
>>747561985>Assassins Creed: HogwartsExactly. It suffers from the same problem as basically all of the AC games post-Origins, where you have this absolutely beautiful map to explore but they forgot to put anything worth doing in it. Also not a huge complaint, but it's comical that our character is just allowed to walk in and out of the Forbidden Forest in broad daylight. Like that's not how it works, guys.
>>747562138well fucking fix that then faggot
>>747561848
>>747562192>and thr only way Griffindor lost points is if you disturbed Miss McGonagall's other classSounds like a realistic depiction of the story then
>>747561429I KNEW some nintendo special boy was gonna talk about the shitcube version. The one with NO FREE ROAM, FREE USE OF THE BROOM TO FLY AROUND HOGWARTS CAN YOU IMAGINE Like a resident evil 4 player telling you to play the playstation 2 version and not the gamecube one.
>>747561848This looks really cool, but I would not have the balls to make this game. Rowling's lawyers are probably watching like hawks.
>>747562342isn't it the same game? i just think dolphin runs better than psx2 (or whatever the name of the emulator was). i thought just the pc and console versions are different . i'm deeply sorry and feel very offended being called a nintendo boy, because i write hateposts about nintendo and their recycling culture weekly.
>>747562435They're russian i think so maybe it's fine
>>747562513PS2 version lets you free roam around the grounds and fly up to high parts of the castle and get off the broom and walk around.Gamecube version teleports you around the grounds when you walk past the signs posts, you can still fly around the castle but can't get off unless in the right area.
>>747561732>>747561930The enemy variety in Hogwarts Legacy was abysmal. >poachers and goblins (spellcasters)>trolls>spiders>wolves>skellysMeanwhile, Chamber of Secrets, a fucking movie licensed game made by a C tier studio, had>Firecrabs>Gnomes>Imps>Orange Snails>Bowtruckles>Pixies>Spiders
>>747562619and although the PS2 game had significantly less spells, there were more interesting interactions with the spells.
>>747561848It's cool but the art direction is absolutely shit tier. Looks like Unity slop. The HP games had Soule.
>>747562616Well, that sucks. What about other Harry Potter games on Gamecube? How do Chamber of Secrets and Philisopher's Stone emulate on PCSX2?
>>747562723Better secrets in the movie games, as well. I never played the console versions, but in the PC versions of the first 2 games, you wanted to point your wand at every wall and mirror. You might find a gnome den across from the classroom or a patch of ectoplasm in some random hallway. In Hogwarts Legacy, you just spam Revelio until you pick up a scroll. Such a fucking letdown.Even Order of the Phoenix was a better "Hogwarts Sim" than Legacy.
>>747562857I think that's part of a larger industry trend to make everything as easy/accessible as possible. You can't have genuinely hidden content anymore, the suits will say "well if only 5% of players are going to find it then why bother putting it into the game?".
>>747563064I HATE THEM
>>747561376What's the best ps2 emulator
>>747561732>>747561848Or if you don't mind more goofy take:https://store.steampowered.com/app/3111080/Secret_Agent_Wizard_Boy_and_the_International_Crime_Syndicate/
>>747561376Looks pretty dated. No thanks unc.
The PS1 version mogged. Thre was a really unsettling and lonely vibe to Hogwarts that the other versions didn't havehttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SOP5gb-jkIkI remember going into a secret room behind a bookshelf and getting ambushd by a living suit of armor and crapping my pants>>747561506>>747561571Did you guy ever win the house cup in the chamber of secrets PS1 game? I played it multiple times and every time the final house cup tally happens and Griffindor s ahead, nothing happens
>>747561376I prefer the gameboy game
>>747563630I'm playing it for the first time and it's great, the PS2 version feels more like you're actually exploring the castle though
I have nobody to share this with but I recently found out there's an NTSC version of the first game actually called Philosopher's Stone because Canada didn't change it to Sorcerer's. Neat.
>Harry Shota and the Chamber of Milf Braps
>>747561376they don't make games with colour like this anymore. Colourful games look like purpleslop or unicorn puke like fortnite.
>>747562735If it fulfills the fantasy of exploring a magical school and dueling and all that shit then it'll be kino for me
>>747561848This looks like a 1:1 copy of the games, but made by some inexperienced AI-bros, and missing all the soul. Shan't be looking forward to it.
>>747562735>Soulei see what you did there
>>747563362for as stupid as that game is, the castle does have some of the charm that the original HP games had, just wish it wasn't in fucking early access
>>747561376Played it on the Gamecube and it was great.
>>747561376I played the PC version Game was GAS, a banger of its time
>>747563630I played the PS1 version way back then, remember enjoying it a lot but also being disappointed because after beating the game you get confined to your room and couldn't really freely explore the castle. Could only select the chapters/missions individually.
>>747561848Those system requirements...>60 GB of storage>12/16 GB of RAM>Recommended video card is a 3070For a game that looks like an upscaled version of the old PC HP games. How can it be?
>>747561376Is this the HP game with SOVLE?
all Harry Potter games on ps1, ps2 and pc from Philosophers Stone to Prisoner of Azkahban are great, they fell off heavily after that
>>747561376For me it's Prisoner of Azkaban (the game [for PS2])
>>747568638hottest Hermione appearance in the movie
>>747561581>It's probably just nostalgia talkingI played Chamber of Secrets for PC recently and it's a genuinely good game, well paced and engaging. Sorcerer's Stone and Prisoner of Azkaban aren't too shabby either, though having the nostalgia goggles helps.
>>747568638
>>747568491>>747561376I tried 1 for the PS1 recently and it was shit
>>747573416soul license revoked
>>747573584I mean everything up to and including the gargoyle fight was interesting, and malfoy really should have been a proper rival in the actual series but it's still a licensed game for the for PS1 and shows
>>747573416Try the PC or Gamecube version.
For me, it's the gbc rpg.
>>747574235The GBC RPGs probably had the most story coverage of all the licensed games. Hell, they were even more book accurate than the movies.
