uncs if you love this massive genre of two whole games so much why don't you play 'em?
They're both deader than Halo which is way better
>>747564750i've easily over 10k hours on ut99, got tired
>>747564815This
make place, kiddo
>>747564750both are legendsboth deserve respectboth belong on the FPS Olymp
>>747564750gameplay peaked here
>>747564750>no skins>no account progression>no achievements >no classes>no lootno thanks
>>747564750Quake: the most important PC game ever
where's my live service and corpo servers
>>747564750>why don't you play 'em?I played them when they came out. Also Quake and UT were not the only multiplayer ''arena'' shooters. Half-Life Deathmatch and Jedi Outcast 2 were also popular where i lived.>>747567942That is technically not true with UT2004 at least since you actually got the tournament where you were the captain of a team and you climbed the ladder. Don't remember if ut99 was the same since i mostly played it at the local PC club and not at home.
Name a game in this genre that isnt dead PLEASE
>>747564750I've literally just played UT99 yesterday. Felt a sudden urge. Just wanted to play one match, but it gripped me for 2 hours. 100% worth it, it's still as fun as ever
>>747564750I've been thinking of trying Xonotic
>>747564750Literally finished Dawn of the Machine recently.
>>747567942actually lots of skins
>>747564750I just played Dawn of the Machine a few weeks ago, and I'll play Alkali after I play some more Thief FMs.
>>747564750I play quake every year or so.The latest expansion was kinooooo
>>747564750I still do quite regularly>>747564815It's depressing we've reach a point where some people believe this legitimately.
>>747568346Halo unironically, mcc is borders on unplayable though
>>747569256This And everyone should play the map pack Tremor that just released. 30 Vanilla Quake maps in the style of the original and its fucking fantastic
I'm too old for them nowadays
>>747564750I'm only halfway through brutalist jam 3, I'll pick it up again after finishing arcane dimensions
>>747568692The best part where the skins/models you could download. The Lobo one was fucking great. Voiced and all
>>747564750Never cared outside of LAN parties, where everyone was too high to do much more than laugh at muh rocketjumps and shitBut I could reinstall crysis and MWLL now that you give me ideas
>>747564750>retard can't even find Quake 3 pic >posted Q1 and claim that people are not playing it
where can i play instagib these days?
>>747564750I still play Quake every now an then.
>>747564750Only sweaties left on open servers if you can even find them. But these games were meant to be played on LAN with friends anyway and good luck organizing 40+ people to get together on a weekend for anything let alone a LAN. Just accept that it was of its era and that the thrill is gone. I’m sure our grandpas felt that way about bowling alleys and pool halls. Sure, you can find them today, but the scene is dead and forgotten (outside of some hustler movies like The Colour of Money). I’m sure there are people in the fighting game scene saying the same thing. FPS niggas cry about COD4 and BF2 being unlike anything today. I guess you Zooms and Alphas better enjoy what, extraction shooters? Friendslop games? Because that will be a dead era too.
>>747571979any time. With bots
