For all you normies who are interested in the RS3 demake but avoid the actual SaGa games due to graphical reasons. You are better off just playing the original.

The demake ruined the art style by making it look like a modern falcom shovelware game, while the original has one of the best pixel art from Square's SFC era, on par with Seiken Densetsu 3, Rudra no Hihou and Chrono Trigger.

Everyone avoids SaGa because of the schizoid gameplay the graphics were never an issue.

I'll stick with playing Enchanted Farm.

That's not what i see the defenders of the Xeem games say. Aside from these, the normies don't even bother checking out the other SaGa games. The only reason why the demakes are doing comparatively better off are because of the shitty anime style they are using.

I'm the normie (to SaGa fans) that tried a game and found it fascinating but then tried another and found it terrible. I only like Minstrel Song on PS2, and I like it abstractly. If I were to rank the top 10 rpgs ever it would be in there for how uniquely baroque and interesting it is, but a whole series of that is too autistic for anyone.

I've never even beaten MS but I know it is a high point in the genre on concepts alone. Execution of those concepts is usually too much for an rpg series but I see the merit in what it is.

I tried playing Frontier 1 and got filtered because of how shit it was. Should I give Frontier 2 and Saga a try or are they the same shit?

This kind of pixel art is like a lost art. Look at any indie RPG inspired by SNES games of that era, none of them even come close to that visual style it's crazy

i dont know about the gameplay, but the first three songs are fun enough, i might some day play it.

For me, it's Evalice SaGa

Most SaGa games are pretty different from each other. Frontier 2 is one of the more linear games in the series and has more of a story focus compared to 1. I think Frontier 2 should be relatively accessible to a newcomer (at least by SaGa standards). RS3 and 1 are similar structurally to Frontier 1, where you pick a starting protagonist and beat the game through them.

Each SaGa game tries something radically new so this isn't really surprising, especially the later games starting with Unlimited diverge heavily from the usual formula. For instance, I really like Unlimited's character building mechanics and dungeon exploration but dislike it's battle system (which may be primarily due to enemies being way too weak and me therefore never really seeing it's potential)
